Quick question on this recovery....
I switched to this recovery using Clockwork, I was able to open it with no problem BUT, I can not view any of my SD files. (When I swittched back to the, Clockwork recovery they were displayed again)

Thanks in advance!

Clockwork allows you to browse files in a folder/directory. For mine the files have to be on the root of the sd card. Its a pita to code that directory browsing and neither amon-ra or myself have felt like doing it.

What is the breakdown of the file names used when making a backup in Amon-RA? I thought it was the date and some sort of time code, but I made 2 backups on Jan 2nd and the 2 file names ended up as:

BCDES-20110102-0539

and
BCDES-20110103-0306

Since I made the first one just after midnight on 1/2 and the second one in the evening of 1/2, I am confused by the "0103" in the second file name.

Well you are correct, its Date and Military time. However The clock is a few hours ahead for some reason. So if you do a back up a couple of hours before midnight it says you did it the next day. In your case 3:06 a.m.

Hmm. I wonder what time zone the clock is using? I'm in EASTERN and I know we are GMT-5. Is it using GMT maybe?
:)

Does it hurt to edit the names of these nandroid files, or might that screw things up when recovering?

Thanks!

You know thats a good question.... I have always wondered that. I just never got around to trying it. My best guess.... 50 50 chance. Try it.
Let me know how it went. Name it somthing stupid like Fart Knocker. LOL

Um, actually I had in mind to name it something more descriptive for my own purposes. :p

So I wonder what the BCDES prefix is all about, and if I would need to leave that in the file name, or if it is not anything essential. I use date codes similar to what they are using, but mine would look more like this:

Theirs>> 20110103-0306
Mine >> 11_0103_0306

I devised mine so that if you have a lot of folders with names beginning with these date codes, they will sort chronologically automatically, including by year. Looks like theirs will too, but I feel mine are easier to read.

So to clarify this in my head, you actually DID the restore with the renamed file, and it was fine? Thanks. I didn't want to take that chance after the recent events I endured.
