You have to download voice search from the market.
 
Spoke with the dev... Fix is coming. I'm about to test the fix and then I'll post on behalf of the dev (Kejar) - unless he wants to do it. :D

I had the same problem and spent half my day trying to get it working. I did finally get it working. I really am not sure what did it but I did it.

1. Try just touching the text screen and see if that brings up a google speech option. This was realy the last thing I did but it might work. If not.
2. Search the market for "voice search and google voice". Install voice search and google voice. I am not sure if google voice will install but I am not sure you nee it.
3. Find and install the swype keyboard via bootstrap.
4. You might need to activate the voice recognition.
5. I installed swype first but if am not sure what short steps to take. I realy don't think it matters but I did get it to work.
 
This ROM is OUTSTANDING so far. It's so much more stable, and faster than ApeX. It's completely blurless unlike the kludge of Tranquility.

This may be the only ROM I would actually use in a business role. The only problem I have right now is that the mail app won't connect to my Exchange 2010 server. :( Otherwise rock solid, EXTREMELY fast, very clean no-bs. Thank you! You've got a donation coming your way as soon as I can figure out the Exchange issue.
 
My phone has the "Speak destination" option when I open Navigation, so it's something that you (jkolbenson) need to install. Do you have voice search installed from the market?

Battery life has been phenomenal with this ROM paired with overlocking/undervolting. Over the past few days there has yet to be a single lockup or soft reboot.

Hmm... I've been on this ROM since it was released and haven't had an issue with media files. I use it on the treadmill for music and I have a couple of movies I have tested with.
 
Love this ROM....no issues with media or video here,i do get an occasional freeze when using the media player..but it was worse on the stock ROM...Its fast,and stable...I did install the blur camera.....thats it,love it!I have Apex 1.3.1,and I dont use it much anymore.
 
Of course I was WAY behind in System Version.. now I am up to .340...

But, when I go to look at my System Version with Gummy 2.5 installed I cant see the System I am currently on... Hmm..

You should go back to your 340 plain nandroid and reinstall GummyJAR. That should fix it, if not, I'm not sure. :cool:
 
Question for GummyJar users, I loved the ROM but didn't like the fact it didn't have the battery manager/custom profile option. My phone idles for a while during the day while at work, and I like knowing that data will be off after a certain time. How do you guys get around that? I know JuiceDefender can basically do that, but I don't really want a 3rd party app running either.

Hmmm... well now I'm totally ****ing tortured. I've been running GummyJAR for about a week straight (ran it for 3 or 4 days, then flashed Rubix... hated it, flashed back to Gummy a week ago) and couldn't think any higher of it. However my curiousity has me wanting to flash Tranq (just downloaded the zip as a matter of fact), just to see what it's all about because I hear a lot of good press on that ROM as well.

What is the 'kludge' of Tranquility, I thought it to be a blurless ROM as well. Is that not the case?

Nothing crazy to the install like mount system or whatever right? Just a straight up install from zip?

System Version is not shown in my menu either. I think it's just not part of this ROM. I wouldn't worry about it. You know you have to be on .340 if you are running it anyway.
 
Yeah when I looked up the instructions on installing ZapX I saw that they recommended mounting the system. That's the first ROM I've ever seen that recommended doing so. I've flashed 5 different ROMs now, and never mounted the system before hand.

I've only ever mounted the system when installing a theme.

Yeah Fission used to have you mount system etc when installing it. I have not used it since 2.1, but I'm not sure if they still require it or not.
 
What does mounting the system do anyway? Do you only need to do it when installing those ROMs?
