BGR Never lies and is 100% accurate when he informs, when he knows.
 
Maybe Best Buy has a two week exclusive on it... does the 14 day return policy work same at Best Buy. I just call another BB in Bristol VA and they stated 2/14/11. I did not ask about their return policy.

So, believe it or not, I actually went into a vzw store today just to see if they had one in the back room so I could feel it, put it in my pocket, and, basically, decide on the spot if I want one. Little did I know it was the launch of the iphone. The vzw store was loaded with "sales people" who were more like vultures pouncing on anyone walking near the door. Outside sign-ups, "hey. what are you here for..?" I said I was just looking and I had to force through the front door. Inside there were 10 X as many salespersons, all wearing some red type of shirt.. but not actually store folks, but Apple reps. When I asked to see a TB prototype they all turned away from me and it felt like I was in a Fellini movie. So weird.
 
I spoke with a VZ rep at work who was there for the iphone launch. He said the TB WILL be out next thursday. I said, what about the rumors of the 24th? He said i guess we'll see then. See you next week. Dude sounded positive. I putting my money on that date. My manager and co worker confirmed. So take it for what it is.
 
Yep. VZ does normally release phones on Thurs. He said we will get the shipments next week and have the launch on thursday. He's gonna be staying in scottsdale until then. Since he will have to be back to deal with the launch. Our computers still show the 14th, so im assuming the 17th is what it was pushed too.

Not calling you out, just be careful quoting dates. They can end up bitting you. ;)

I am going with BGR aka the dude who sold his web site for millions/billions. That dude has inside contacts like it is no ones business and Phil from AC also confirmed that he was told the same thing (as well as 3 other sites).

No i understand. It's really annoying the dates don't match up. So like i said just take it for what it is.

LOL... It reminds me of back in the good old days over on the Droid section of the forums, whenever there would be an upcoming Android OS release. Everyone throwing out dates of when they thought the OTA was coming, yelling when it didn't come out when they thought it would...

Meanwhile all of us rooters would laugh because we had already had the new update for weeks...

Waiting for the 2.1 release was the funniest. People thought 2.1 was really going to make a HUGE difference while most of us were just watching the commotion.

This whole release has felt like that. Some people think it's going to be a great device while others are a little disappointed by the hardware (CPU and screen resolution for me personally)...but some still think it might be okay.

Then you have the anticipated November "release date" for the 3G version that never saw the light of day (remember that? People waiting up to pre-order this device on or around Nov 7th LOL)...pushed back until now when they are finally accepting pre-orders.

But even still...no one knows for sure when it's releasing! This is a Best Buy exclusive...wait, maybe not! Haha! Not much has changed since October! It's like a team of meteorologist are forecasting this device! Now I know where the "thunderbolt" got it's name!

"I'd say there's a 90% chance of a thunderbolt in the coming year. Next week could be very stormy but there is also a good chance the storms will miss us and could push the thunderbolts out for several more weeks" :D

Keep your umbrellas with you everyone...there's no telling what wacky thing will happen with this device next.

there hasnt been an official announcement. But it will be that day. date was "leaked" to major outlets by those that know.

I apologize if u have seen this q a bunch of times, if it is the 24th, is that for both BB and the Vzn stores?

it will be the same across all retail channels. BB sometimes sells them early when they get them in but thats frowned upon.
