Root [ROM] Myn's Warm Z

is anyone having issues with sending long text? i cant send text more than 160 characters without getting and error pop up repeating itself
Download and use Handcent SMS from the market. This will ease that issue. Then turn off notifications in the stock messaging app.

Here's something I noticed today. For some reason my email notification tone doesn't match what is set in my sound settings. Any ideas?

Did u reinstall TI Backup? Once u have the app running you should see all your apps and stuff that you previously did a backup on. Then select each item and hit restore. If its an app it should ask if you want to restore app and data I believe. It might ask if you want to download the app first but I'm not 100%.

ill give that a shot this evening when i get off work :) thanks man!! ive had this thing since sept of last year (came to the light from the darkside of the blackberry tour) and have just loved the device and all the new stuff with rooting just looks awesome!! my buddy put liberty 1.5 on his droid x, and it works seamlessly, i know that rom isnt available on the evo, but does twopointtwo have the ability to easily change boot animations like liberty? or is there a toolkit similar to libertys? thanks again all you wonderful forumites!! :)

Welcome to the forums! Myn's Warm Z does not have a boot animation loading option built into the ROM. But you can flash a new boot animation using recovery. Just download the flashable zip and then use Recovery to create a Nandroid Backup first. Then use recovery to flash the boot animation zip and you should be set. Here's a collection of animations:

how would you be able to do this Quick How To & Hands-On: Get The Stunning Honeycomb Boot Animation On Your Rooted Android Device | Android News, Reviews, Apps, Games, Phones, Tablets, Tips, Mods, Videos, Tutorials - Android Police

This was taken from that page:

This requires root, and some sort of SuperUser-enabled file explorer –Root Explorer works well, although I know there is a free alternative out there.

To install:

instructions… download the boot animation. using root explorer, copy this bootanimation.zip to the /system/ media/ folder. yes, copy over the one thats already there. then just reboot. YOU are doing this to your phone, not me. DO NOT FLASH THIS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.as i didnt flash it so im not sure that you can. i do not know who made this but thank you very much. and much thanks to Avetny for passing this to me

Make sure you make a nandroid backup before doing this.

Did u set the permissions in the system/media folder from R/O to
R/W in the upper right?

so is this camera issue something that is definetly going to happen or i might be ok..kinda a hit and miss thing?

There's no ability to switch from the front or rear camera with the ROM. I believe the base code that Myn used did not have this ability so you must flash the fix.

Up until tonight this rom has been fast and stable. I woke the phone up from about 1-2 hrs sleep and the thing locked up when I got an incomming call. Internet browser was uber choppy, homescreen swiping was delayed, etc. I checked running services and I only had 17 mb memory free. I've never seen it that low on the evo yet.
Spare parts didn't show any culprits either, no wake lock, or huge eater in cpu usage.
I'm running toastmod 4.3.1 cfs HAVS nosbc. Worked like a charm on rls5, and I still have the rolled back PRI.
I wonder if all the issues I've had I should redownload the zip and reflash it?

Maybe try a fresh install. Did u flash caulkins format all zip prior to flashing the rom?

I started having similar issues with the rom over the past two days. freezes, screen unresponsive ...using the same kernel..nothing really had changed. for now I am moving on to something else. I will revisit myn's z when he comes out with an update. I would love to get in on his nighlies but honestly am running out of all of the free time I had over the winter with spring just around the corner.

so ...for the time being it's on to king's for a few days lol...in the end I may end up back on infection. That rom was slick

Tried flashing it twice, even downloaded it twice, from two different sites.

Phone just gets stuck in a boot loop.

guys I am working on a boot animation thread just haven't finished it up. honeycomb ba (in multiple colors even) is something I am working on. I have been running that one since the day the zoom came out :P

I didn't use Caulkins format all, I guess I should start. Thanks for the tip!
I use'll the format all zip then I'll reflash. I really like this rom, I don't want to wait for rls2 to use it. :D

Well after a few days of testing this Rom, I decided to ditch it and I flashed CM6, I had never tried an AOSP Rom, but it runs great! I'm waiting on a stable Gingerbread release : )

I found the rom to be very very picky about flashing...sometimes requiring multiple attempts

don't give up!
