so, it would just be a matter of replacing w/e file android is using to calibrate the screen?, (not that i really need but..you never know..), the problem it's that if it's not that file ts_cal, then what other file it is?, im thinking on maybe taking a look at how android as a whole to see how it works and eventually finding out this.

what about moving it into system/lib/hw/ ?, could that work?

That's exactly what I was wandering. What file it is using for calibration data ?

Nope.
In that directory are libraries, not conf files.

I have sucessfully flashed my Android and manually installed CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3.3), but I have a problem with this:

4. Your phone will now reboot with CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3.3). The first boot might take longer than a normal boot.

My phone is rebooting all the time. The screen shows LG logo, then LG animation and it's rebooting. I can't launch system! What can I do? Help me please.:(

the steps involve :make a backup of ur current rom

download new 1

create a folder on sd card called clockworkmod

inside that folder place a file called backup

inside the folder backup put the file u downloaded

boot into recovery an choose restore an pick the file u downloaded :)

im using it myself i uninstalled most of the apps that came installed the phone now looks so much more modern with fancy fonts and the added colour to things :)

Anything thats not working on it? I have read that some are having issues with playing back videos even though they are using 3rd party apps.

the video codecs are still d same as for as i know :( since last night my bat has only dropped 10% an im installin loads of apps an browsin a lot it wasnt mentioned he done anythin with the bat issue but im seen a big difference :) its very much the same rom with a few tweaks for the better

yep u could make a backup of ur current rom usin clockworkmod an install the 1 from the link above its a recovery file so u can use recovery to install an if u dont like u can just restoe ur phone back to ur current rom :)

I agree with Praccy, I reckon this should be put into another thread, so people don't get confused. If you give me the full link to the original page with it, not the download link, then I'll start a new thread dedicated to it :)

Theme chooser version is an apk, i installed using Astro file manager and once installed it appears in the Theme Chooser
Or
You can try the recovery version.
 
Well I read this entire thread and am ready to upgrade my unlocked GT 540 (using it with ATT in U.S.) and can't even get past the first step. I installed astro file manager to load Z4Root from the SD card and when I run it it seems to install okay but then when I run the program and push the permanent button it shows running exploit then creating shell and goes back to the main android screen and nothing happens. What on earth am I doing wrong? I've tried unintalling, reinstalling rebooting the phone, redownloading from a different source, everything I can think of.

PS Phone is in Debugging mode.

Hi, I remember that I was really surprised how it looked like nothing was happening for a long time. The phone just went blank for about 40 minutes, then it seemed to work. I think it was actually communicating with something during the time, but am not sure.

How long did you give it before rebooting, etc?
