Root GB miui 2.3.5

Lol mad hatters! :p

Just a quick update. 2.3 Gingerbread has been released on Nexus S today! Desire continues to get updates on Froyo until the devs release the gingerbread version. I reckon Desire will get it fortnight from now! In the meantime Nexus One is scheduled to get it next Friday!

htc will need to add their own "sense" touches and after that well have to wait about 1 month for sources

Rasta I wasnt talking bout htc. Im refering to MIUI getting 2.3!! This whole thread is about MIUI :D It officially got rolled out today

Another update for those on MIUI. Apparently Nexus One is having some issues so it wont b released this week instead its the turn of Desire HD cos its stable enought for MIUI framework.

Hi new to rooting, just rooted and installed my first Rom this week on my UK t mobile HTC Desire.. installed the MIUI-AU as i found a video on youtube regards this rom.
Loving this rom, but just realised the AU stands for australia, so is this rom specifically for Australia.. is it gonna cause problems on my Desire?

Just did some research i can see there a different MIUI roms, including the eMIUI, whats the difference with this and the MIUI-Au rom?

in the MIUI-Au theres lots of 'blimey cobber' an 'Stonkered tall poppies' ;):D and thats where my aussie slang kinda finishes...

back to the real question though....a quick google search shows a number of people saying that the Au version is a lil more stable and that the animations are better than straight MIUI...but that it could be a little of a battery drain more...

BUT thats just what I picked up from a quick google search....wait till one of the other boys here comes in with an in-depth what is list lol...I just wanted to do a bad aussie joke ;):D

No, it should not be any problem if you are outside of Australia.
I have used this ROM for a while and the only issue I had was some bluetooth connectivity problems.

Well they havent changed the launcher Im afraid! Iphone style launcher is here to stay! I think I speak for majority on MIUI roms we all would love scrolling widgets enabled!

Is MIUI that much faster than other ROMs? Because I use GV 1.6, which I love dearly, but I could always do with a faster ROM. I mean, I wouldn't even REALLY be using MIUI that much, as I use Widgetlocker and LauncherPro Plus.

Miui is faster than sense, but its about the same or maybe even a bit slower than other 2.2 AOSP roms.

Gingervillain is about the fastest you can get right now. Why do you feel its slow?

Oh no, I don't think it's slow, it's very swift indeed, I just wondered if MIUI was faster, as it looks quite lightweight.

Well its AOSP with an alternative launcher and a bit of extra code (obviously I'm over simplifying their efforts here).

Its no more light weight.

The most lightweight is Oxygen for 2.3

Probably, equally lightweight is ReDux (ASOP v2.3). I felt it was pretty fast (at least as fast as GV).

Any bugs?
I've tried ReDux previous version v1.0.2 shortly and all was OK, except I had some bluetooth issues with my Parrot carkit (no problem with GV). Other users had different opinions about the bugs, but it was a general consensus that the ROM is very fast and lightweight.
They updated it on 17.03 to a new version with some improvements and new launcher.
