What features do you want on the Evo 2?

TS i have to agree i was just reading some of his old post from last year and theres nothing about him predicting evo 1 specs..heck in one of them he even mentions what he works in.this guy was just trolling and got a lot of people happy over fake specs.he really should be banned

I'm curious what the heck is this? I thought it might be the SIM card slot.

EDIT:
Nevermind looking at the video it is the micro usb jack.

The GSM info on linked to on HTC's site was in error. This phone will not be a world phone, thus no sim. AndroidCentral confirmed this directly with HTC.
Linky for Android Central confirming this?

TS out

Well good thing this is just the EVO 3D and not the EVO 2 that will drop this summer with all of our wishes. *crosses fingers and hopes for the best ; )*

Like I said earlier, lets try to keep things in perspective here, I'm hoping its true and that the design was changed at the last minute. Lets wait to hear the other side of the coin. I'm willing to give the guy a chance to explain.

*I want to believe*

Still the EVO 3D introduced today is one heck of a phone!

I'm still trying to give the benefit of the doubt but it does seem like a troll. But honestly, it is hard for me to imagine someone would go to such lengths to BS and to what end; what kind of pathetic life must one have to troll like this other than someone who needs some real help. I'm being serious.

What's interesting is he kinda took the excitement out of the announcement because many of us suddenly had all these "wild" expectations which never got announced and you see people not as enthused or excited as they would have been if he didn't throw all those wild notions

The Evo has the 1st gen snapdragon and this skipped an entire chipset and has the latest dual core 8860 soc with adreno 220 (faster than the incredible S,desire HD and thunderbolt and first phone to use that gpu), 3D, Much better cameras (i assume), new sense, bigger battery ...if you can't get excited about that, I don't know what would.......Quadcore????

As for netflix, Qualcomm has already announced they support it with their new chips so its really up to Sprint/Netflix to work this out. I will be preordering this as soon as I can

This phone is going to be a monster......i guess everyone forget when they went from the hero (500+mhz) to the evo (1ghz) how much of a different it was and still is.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more I start to laugh at thinking about someone sitting there posting b4 a release last yr, then dissapearing, and poping back up again this yr to post some extreme stuff again. Its kinda funny to be honest. lol

Now I'll hold out some slightly to see if they can prove themselves, but again like so many have said, there are too many things pointing the other way. they honestly just dont keep dev's working on a prototype phone that has vastly different specs than what they have decided to release. I've Never seen a phone be published on the site with Hardware specs that have changed after the fact. Least not anything more than something that can be unlocked via software.

gosh we all got suckered into it though no? lol haha

On another note, I hate the raised camera on both forms BUT having the Seidio active case I dont notice it at all and its a case I've absolutely fallen for since day one. outside of it the Evo is just too slick fo rme and tends to slip out of my hands.
I will vastly miss my kickstand though as I use it every dang day even at work where I WONT be dragging along a dock just to use. Also flipping it when bored takes up some time that I will now have to fill up too. :)

Well Blue Screen's trolling aside, the Evo 3D isn't as well received as it would have been because it's more of a compromise than it is a huge upgrade.

Yes, it has a faster chip and 3D. But you also lose the kickstand, HDMI while charging (without dongle), and the port is on the side so existing car docks probably won't work.

It's a tradeoff. Had we kept all of our OG Evo features and just got added features like 3D, faster chip, etc, then everyone would be excited about it regardless of what the troll posted. But once we have to start weighing pros of the new features versus cons of losing features, excitement goes down.

it's a great phone on the insides, but not "break-contract-pay-full-retail-at-around-600-dollar" nice. I don't like the overall form of the phone, and while dual core will probably be great, there will be plenty of phones out by next summer offering this and possibly more, especially if this phone goesn't have both wimax & lte capabilites. I don't do a lot of gaming or whatever that I'd imagine dual core would make full use of, and since that's the only hands down upgrade (well, also the fancy new screen) I feel like the best move for people without the upgrade discount is to stand pat, for now

For those of you worried about lens cracking and/or scratching because of the larger camera footprint:
After watching some hands-on videos and the people removing the back cover, it appears that there is a camera cover integrated onto the back cover. For better or worse, this should give an extra layer of protection for the cameras. So a simple back cover swap should alleviate some of those nasty camera scratch woes. Just an observation

I can understand that. That really speaks to how awesome the Evo 4g is as it will be a solid phone choice for a while. Hardware is currently moving faster than software/feature dev so I understand people not wanting to upgrade every year. We will soon get to the point where hardware slows down cos it stop being relevant and the software/innovation really takes off.

I can't wait to see what kinds of custom roms, overclock, apps, launchers are developed for the Evo3d. These are definitely fun times if you love mobile tech.

Well I can say that I have my upgrade (from my blackberry) and I can't wait to get my hands on this phone. I think my wife even wants to return her newly purchased Epic to get this phone in June. I'll be pre-ordering as soon as I can.

HD-friendly, ultra-fast, more power-efficient core, bigger battery, 3D if you want it, higher res, camera button, no increase in thickness... and that's just what's confirmed.

Not seeing the downside yet.

I'm kinda liking this a lot.

Bet an accessory kickstand back helps flush-up the lenses, too.

You don't see a downside?

Have you heard how it's pretty much a done deal that Sprint will be going to LTE? Have you experienced Sprint's Now Network lately? I'd say Sprint's data speeds are the slowest of the big 4 and Sprint's Faux G (Remember current WiMax isn't true 4G like WiMax2 will be, if it ever does be...) had so many holes, it's like a network designed by a former swiss cheese maker!

but.. there are some other things that dont add up too..

before bluescreen even entered the discussion... all the leaked info said 4GB of ROM and 1GB of Ram
now on htc's website.. it says 1GB of each.

i think things are still shaking loose... and not sure what else will come to light.

I bought the Evo for what it was - a fabulous phone - and have only had 4G a few times since June.

So, regardless of when I go with the Evo 3D, 4G isn't going to matter to me.

I'm happy with the 3G service I get for what I do, and by the way - there's a whole set of newer LTE and WiMAX standards out there.

So - by the time they figure all of that out and decide to support it where I live, I'll likely be on the phone after the E3D.

So - just based on the platform and what little I've seen, I like it, I don't see a downside, I don't pay retail for phones, and I will buy an aftermarket case with kickstand if offered.

Too soon for me say if this is early go or wait - judging the phone on its merits known so far, not the hype and rumors.

NFC, no comment. ;)

As posted earlier from the link at Sprint's site for the Evo3d:

Sprint - HTC EVO? 3D

Look on the right side and click on the "View full specs" link.

There you will see that it is 4gb internal memory and 1gb Ram. Not sure why htc's website said that. Maybe it's just that Sprint ordered a version with more internal memory.

Look at the bright side guys, this does have FM radio! LOL

Ill be getting this on launch day. The screen and processor are good enough for me. I will be using my upgrade.

Hopefully detailed specs will have better news and benchmarks/comparisons to the Atrix will be competetive. It is rumored that Sprint will be getting the Atrix as well too.

The HDMI 1.4 protocol provides power over hdmi, as well as Ethernet. I bet the hdmi cable will charge the phone while outputting video/audio.
