Root Thunderbolt ads

This has nothing to do with rooting, but the friggin Thunderbolt pop ups are getting rediculous. Every other time I load a thread, I get the ads on my PC. Irritating the crap outa me!

Ok, I vented my bile, on to constructive posting! :D

lol

add the the site to your host file as 127.0.0.1, which should stop the ads... or I'm using no script for firefox, no ads for me. :)

for those who have been as of yet un-annoyed by the stupid pic of the thunderbolt that pops up when browsing these forums.... its a pic of the vzw's version of the evo that you hafta wait for a few seconds before the x to close the effen stupid ad even appears... waste of time... who was the **** who decided to bomb sprint users with vzw ads? BRILLIANT!!!! We are sprint users for a multitude of reasons, not just the EVO itself, come on phandroid.... pull your head outta yer a$$

I guess its vzw version of the evo just a year later and still a little behind the curve and slightly poorer quality...

I completely agree with Phandroid having ads on their site, without them we probably wouldn't have this awesome forum. It's the inability to close them out that gets me. On a brighter note Phandroid gets paid by verizon, so we actually win by being annoyed. :) Rationalizing is a beautiful thing.

To my understanding, the Thunderbolt has a faster processor and more memory.

Possible, but still behind the curve for the time frame it was released, dual core is hitting now and more memory is the standard, evo is just a little odd ball there...if they would have released it last year it may have been an acceptable alternative...not a year later was my point...

People probably wont be trying to decide between the thunderbolt and the evo now it will be between the thunderbolt and the evo 3d or the atrix or etc., dont think it matches up there...

I personally cant wait for the evo view and the evo ii

evo ii? is there word of an evo 2 also? i dont really want the evo 3d...I have been looking into tabs though, cant find a decent priced one i like yet, not until summer, the xoom is not an option, 800 bucks my ass...

I want a 10 inch screen and dual processors, wifi only, not a lot of options that fit that atm

My evo does everything i want on the go, but has the 4 inch screen, i would like something bigger when im at home, 7 inches doesnt look that much bigger when you are holding it especially next to a 10 inch screen...

Im over laptops, mine has had a broken screen for a year and that was after i got it out of storage after 3 or 4 years...i use my gfs on occasion to dl a file for my phone, for some reason the evo doesnt like to download roms for nes and snes...?

Well at least its not just me having issues dling snes and nes roms... I just dl them on my pc then transfer them.

yeah they dl fine to the laptop then transfer but if i dl to my phone its dl's like a 28k file no matter what size the actual file is and there is nothing in it...

I also like that every zip i dl now it thinks it should be handled with snes lol, not a big deal, just a picture but kinda odd

Lol no fanboyism in here. EVO has a a slower processor, an older gpu, a lower quality screen, older version of sense, an older camera sensor, a wimpy kick stand and no LTE. Which like it or not is much faster than Wimax(which is why Sprint and all other carriers will eventually be going with it). The EVO was a great device, but the thunderbolt is an upgrade in every aspect.

yeah...i still dont care...

Also the kickstand on the thunderbolt blows, have you tested the tbolt? The kickstand is bigger but it feels cheaper, No good. I can rock sense 2.0 if i like, so moot point there. LTE vs wimax can be argued all day, they will likely both exist, and hopefully so, one as a backend...the camera was giving everyone issues on the tbolt when it first dropped so it may be new but...

NONE of that was actually my point though, the point was if they wanted to compete they should have dropped it last year not this year with the 3d and atrix and whatever other dual cores and 3d and quad hd screens and super amole plus plus mega turbo or whatever it is at now.

Would I really switch or go to vzw for the tbolt with everything else on the horizon? Would I leave sprint and my evo for the paltry upgrades of the tbolt? No sir.

Yeah, I've tested an EVO, and I own a thunderbolt. If I had an EVO would I grab a bolt? No. But to say the bolt is an EVO on VZW is a gross understatement.

i think the nes and snes d/l issue is caused by a pebkac error :P ive never had issues with doing that. Ive seen some talk about the evo2 (evo ii) cant remember where i saw it, or how specultive it was, but youd just hafta guess that its on the horizon. Also, ive been reading about the architecture of processors/memory inherantly changing. Currently, theyre seperate things within the phone, however the mad scientists behind the curtain are apparantly attemopting to interlace them into one thing making the transfer rate between the system memory and cpu a thing of the past as theyre all in one. That being said, theres, of course, still going to be a transfer rate, but the physical connections between the two being such a different animal under the new projected structure would be so different that theyd not be really comparable as far as benchmarking them goes. And battery life is going to be positively abysmal in the dual/quad core devices, and the new architecture should also alleviate that. So yeah, the dual/quad core thing is all the rage right now, but thats likely to change.
