Rush, why don't you just invest in a repeater

Maybe then that will solve your wifi issues. For me I can't go in the back bedroom and get a great signal. So I boosted using the windsurfer antenna from
freeantennas.com.
I just made a small antenna using their configuration and cutouts and it did in fact give me a much better signal in the back. I did of course move the wifi router up as far as I could get it on my desk. It did help improve signals. My laptop in the bedroom has no issues with signal, so I figured that this was an Iconia issue. But as soon as I took a more proactive stance with my signals, I found out I could get a better signal with the Iconia just using some best practices with my Netgear router.
I was going to just get a repeater and be done with it. But I wanted to try out the free options first. I then installed some wifi apps that showed my signal ratios and strengths through the house and this gave me an idea about where exactly I was concerning my power and signals from the router.
So far I am very happy with the Iconia, although I have noted on this forum and others such as XDA that you are not so happy with it due to the wifi issues. My hope is that you won't convince too many people to give it back lol. Its a great device and I am way happy with it. I know updates are just around the corner and am very happy to wait for them. My productivity has increased 100 fold in just having the Iconia.
I was also not willing to wait for the Transformer when I saw that crappy release they pulled in the UK and then in the USA. The people who actually received their Transformers were few while the warehouse operators ended up placing massive orders at the exact same time as regular people. Today I get an email from Amazon that finally the Transformer is available, but not at the 399.00 price, rather the 599.00 price that the warehouses are selling them at. This stinks bad on Asus's part in my opinion. They purposely didn't have enough stock, and knowing full well many wanted it, they instead released only after midnight on many sites and ran out of stock minutes later. Now we have these cheesy companies who snapped up the Transformer trying to sell it at double the price. So I won't even go with the Transformer when it finally gets in the chain in mass just because of that dirty double dealing trick they pulled on everyone.
I am a tad upset at Skype not working on the Iconia, but other that not being able to find a working outgoing and incoming phone app for it anywhere, I am still happy to wait for when that will happen. I have had a few forced reboots, a few Force Closes on some apps, but other than that, nothing new there. I have that with my Jailbroken iTouch so am pretty used to force closes and a few reboots here and there so it is not a deal breaker for me..
As for Netflix I have that on my Roku so I don't really need it on my Iconia. I also have it on my BD player, so not really needing it for the Tablet. I was happy that I plugged in my USB 8 gig stick with some movies on it and it played right away. Decent quality as well. Chronicles of Riddick which is my test movie for everything played great on it. 300 also played well and Gladiator played just as well. These were converted movies from 3 gigs each using Handbrake which melted them down to less than a gig for my iTouch. I was still very impressed with the quality. It isn't BD or 1080p quality on the Iconia, but its was good enough for sitting in the doctors office in that little room they put you in while you wait on them for two hours lol.
I am very very happy with this device. I plan to keep it. Acer to me has pulled off a great model and proved that they could deliver when others were having a tough time even getting their products out.
Anyway..
