I'll play, Whatup wit dat?
What OS are you running? are you rooted or unrooted? is the number your sending them to allowed to receive text?
I smoke too damn much. Forgot to mention all of that. Running Velocity 1.1, rooted, and as far as I know, all of my contacts still have texting plans.
If you installed Velocity without wiping data your going to need to wipe data and the dalvik cache then reflash the ROM, That should fix it.

Known Issues:
Problem: MMS messages fail on send and/or receive
Solution: Wipe ALL userdata and reflash the ROM
Man, I just did that to fix MMS like a week ago. Thanks for the solution though!
Crap.call *22899 let it go through its motions. and make sure you didnt try to back up message data. because the ally freaks when you try to restore it.
Try *228 option 2. Did you try restoring mms/sms data or something?
DO NOT restore mms.apk app/data. weird things happen. i know from personal experience lol
I think I might've done that. Can it be fixed or did I screw myself?
You would just have to wipe data & delvik cache then flash Velocity again
I've tried like everything I could think of and still nothing. And I can't afford another phone.
Wipe EVERYTHING, reflash. Then dont install anything, no backups, 3rd pary apps, nothing. This will be a good baseline test. If it works then slowly add apps back in.
If you reflash, then do anything we cant help you, as it could very well be 3rd party apps or backups breaking it. We KNOW that MMS works great if you do a full wipe, and has about a 30% failure rate if you dont wipe.

I've been having similar issues with receiving/sending messages. I've done a full wipe twice. pretty annoying. not sure how to resolve the issue short of rebooting.I've tried like everything I could think of and still nothing. And I can't afford another phone.
