I use notepad++ on windows and geany on ubuntu. But Before I do that I decompile the apk with apk manager it will make all xml into english.
 
Hey all, I've been following this thread, and would like to thank everyone for their efforts!!! I'm guessing there's many like me eagerly awaiting the finished (bugless) product. Whenever it's all set please make a new thread so we know it's up!!

ok rappard got EVERYTHING WORKING gps, banner and added all my apps to the rom and re-flashed now works great seems a lil smoother after the banner fix.
 
so it would seem the only "real" issues left are the screen with it's delay to come back on(rom issue?), intermittent gps issues(?), and just having to apply the MMS patch(not much of an issue :) ) , and moving apps to sd automatically(rom?)

any others?

Did the usb issue get fixed?
 
I don't know how much everyone likes swype but I'm thinking that you can get it to work fully by doing this:
Pull the lib from an old rom pushing it to /system/lib
sign swype with the same keys as the system apks
pushing it to system/app

Thats a good call, I like the swype keyboard, I dont always, or often truth be told, use swype itself.

I have the newer beta version of swype now. that gets wiped and I have to redownload it everytime. I would think it would install itself even on this rom, I dont remember if I did that when I ran the original version of this rom.

i really like swype! have you tried just pushing the lib and running without signing?

Im running swype with this rom. All I did was sign up for the beta it runs great havent had any problems out of it. :)
 
@t3084 No problem :)

I wasnt sure this would work but it did, to keep from having to redownload swype everytime you do a wipe just make a titanium back up of both swype files. Reinstall it then open swype from the app tray click "enable swype" then change input method. If you dont enable swype it wont show up in the options for input method
 
I'm not 100% sure this will work for your phones since ro.secure might have to be turned to 0 in the ramdisk but the es file explorer root explorer functions work on cyanogenmod. What does this mean no more paying 3.99 for root explorer.
I just tested this on my optimus v and it works
download es file explorer
open it
go to settings/root options
select root explorer and allow it superuser permissions
select mount file system

If all goes well then you just saved 3.99
 
Has any one figures out the issue with the mms texting ? Sending pics works fine but mms text doesn't send?
