I'll start. I just flashed the deodexed .596. It went smoothly and flawlessly. It formatted my system, but kept my data. Nice.
I haven't played extensively with the OTA, but I'll tell you this. immediately I feel a smoother homescreen.

I intend to play around with the new build more and add more info to this, i.e., quadrant, battery, data speeds, etc.

Quadrant on rooted/deodexed stock:

First run: 1619
Second run: 1807
Last run: 1912

Go figure. I don't get why it's so different, but I'll take 1902, huh?

3g speedtest (speedtest.net):

First test: 100ms 1477 down 673 up
2nd test: 87ms 2074 down?? 903 up

Ok.. I've NEVER gotten anyting that fast on my local 3g network, so I do it again.

Last test: 97ms ping 1640 down 884 up.

Hmm... I've never gotten anything that fast before, as I keep records of all my pings.


First impression: Veeeeeery happy about the new speed and smoothness tweaks and about the GB build in general.

I'm not going to another phone anytime soon.

Overall my quadrant scores seem a little bit down from some of the leaks....

BUT...the phone is SCREAMING...this "ROM" is just flat out smooth...lightning mixed with melted butter and a dash if KY...

I have not tried the stock launcher yet but can tell you that Launcher Pro feels AWESOME right now...

you probably just reverted your framwork back to .595 :(

by "little glitches" you mean the fact that it won't stay put on 8 megapixels i assume??...if that is what you mean, then the little glitch is still there
 
Well the only major glitch with the camera was in fact it not staying on your selected pic size and reverting back. But I have noticed not everyone had this glitch. I know I didn't and still don't.

I'm just sitting here trying to remember everyone's gripes with the .588 and up and asking the question of "how is it now". But alas, i'm brain farting and can't remember all the little issues.....lol.
 
I've always had lag problems with all the leaks and I had all of them. Running 596 for about an hour and no lag yet. For me thats a major improvement over all the leaks!

Im also getting 2000-2100 :eek: OC'd 1.25ghz on quadrant and i never got over 1900 on the leaks.

Loving this update gonna chill with this phone until something comes out that will blow my mind. Added at least 6 months to this phone life for me!
 
So i got around to trying out the stock launcher and im very impressed there as well!...hands down the smoothest ive ever seen completely stock MotoBlur perform...impressed
 
Well I got the update installed. Right now it's lacking in performance because its doing it thing with loading stuff and throwing updates and apps back in. The flashing itself went off without a hitch.

EDIT: Ok got everything set now. And wow, she is faster.

Set the camera resolution to 8MP (2nd choice I think). Reboot. Your camera is still set to 8MP and not WS?

Surprising if that's the case. Pretty much everyone else has this bug on any of the GB leaks and up through OTA.
 
Home screen scrolling and app drawer seems more responsive, both in loading quicker and moving between normal app drawer and my set up drawer
