I'm not knocking paid apps by any means, but does it grind anyone else's gears that we have to purchase an app (droid2bootstrapper) to enable us to load a rooted OS (so far the only way to accomplish this properly).
I love root n all, but I just can't see myself paying to have root. I don't think any other phone requires you to pay for something to enable the ability to get root in one way or another (or maybe i'm wrong on that one). I just hope this isn't a start of what's to come for future GB capable phones

Well first, you aren't required to pay for anything. But, If you want to support a great group of developers then you won't mind paying a couple of bucks to reap the benefits of their hard work.

^^^^ agreed there are ways to get free apps but why cheat people out of their hard work? given some of those apps are way too much but if it is worth it just pay for it. not everyone is nice like Airmaxx23 and create a ton of stuff and lays it out free...

Side note i am still sticking with the general update from Moto "end of summer" feeling. no need to rush what can't be rushed

True, you're not required. It's ones choice whether to decide to donate $$ to someone or not. In this particular situation, I have made my decision (douche move or not) & was just simply stating my opinion. It's cool though...I'll just upgrade my phone here soon & get root without being required to purchase an app for root. I know I can easily google or get the apk from someone else (as Koush's links are no longer up he gave on his website). Also, if you pay for it in the market, it doesn't go to p3droid etc, it goes to Koush(who didn't create this particular rooted update package), iirc?

Oh well..no big deal & not trying to fuss about anything. That's all I'll say on this
