Offical Gingerbread coming Friday to the X.

Now we will just wait until the OTA starts trickling out to customers.... and personally I will wait until we get a way to root the new OTA before installing.

I cant come up with a technical reason as to why it would be an issue, but...

I am rooted with Z4 as well, and while it probably wont cause a problem I plan to unroot and remove the z4 app before I apply the ota. I figure its the safe thing to do since z4 won't work with the ota and there is no need for it to be there. Seems cleaner this way.
 
What are you guys going to do if the OTA isn't rootable?

What are you going to do if there's no SBF available for a week or two and you screw up your phone?

TBH is supposed to have a rooted version available (and hopefully a sbf) soon.

No doubt we'll see many more created.

I think people like to be the first one to post about it and rush out a post. Unfortunately, there will probably be more false alarms like this one before someone really is the first one.

Anyone know what time the OTA will be released today? Will we be able to force the update or do we have to wait for it to be pusehd to our phone?
 
...someone please give me a beer for each GB thread that gets started today...

guides..have fun merging i'll try and help out with reporting them.
