i'm not sure why it wont restore for you.

but to get back to where you were... wipe cache and dalvik cache and then flash mikg again. you need to use the same version. so if you were on 1.02 then flash 1.02. your settings should stay they same and should keep your apps.

or flash a different theme.

that is a great suggestion.

I don't know either, I'm completely stumped. I reflashed mikg 1.03 (updated earlier), wiped, all that stuff and those ugly green theme things are still there. I wanted to go back to my Morph theme but it just won't let me. I'm back to CWM and doing a nandroid back up now.

Can you tell me how to get this ugly green theme off my status bar and get my morph theme back? Geez, I got rooting under my belt finally but these themes are killing me. lol

I loved the RA recovery as I had gotten very familiar with it but it not working right just won't work for me.

so you had applied a metamorph? you may need to just apply it again. I have never morphed anything so I can't help much with morphs.

no I don't think you can or should try flashing a metamorph.

lol, so if you found that on xda over a month ago. you really shouldn't be using it on mikg. you will lose some or all of the optimizations he has done to the rom. do you know if those icons were made for gingerbread or froyo framework?

heck its possible if those are for froyo it could be your whole recovery issue.

always flash themes built specifically for that rom. and especially with a mikrom you should be especially careful.

also most of the older stuff on XDA should not be used on any gingerbread rom.

I wouldn't even mind going back to the stock icons that came with 1.2. I can't believe it's not possible to just delete the file to get stock back. I know the icons didn't mess up the recovery because I wasn't using them last night and that's when I first encountered this backup issue. I have been searching all night to find out how to uninstall a theme but there is nothing there. Unless I'm so frazzled I can't see it.

I guess I'll have to reflash 1.2 tomorrow and then update to 1.3 again and go through this whole nightmare one more time. I just don't get it...something as simple as trying to restore a backup won't work and now I can't delete a theme? Windows Mobile was so much easier. lol

you can't delete a theme because it is not a separate add on. they are new images that over write the old ones. to get rid of them you need to flash something else.

really so flashing the whole rom again did not change the status bar? it should...

so you were on 1.02, how did you update to 1.03?

I ask because mik does not make updates, he makes new complete roms.

he will most likely be releasing a few more versions over the next week or so because the official update just came out. I would do a clean install of 1.3 and just use that for a week or so ,then move on to (hopefully) his final version.

oh, I haven't really read up on mikg yet. mik usually never makes an update.

so if 1.03 was just an update that would explain why it didn't replace your status bar when you flashed 1.03 again. as he probably just included a few apps with fixes.

when you have time you could do like yesterday, wipe cache and dalvik and then flash 1.02 this should bring your status bar back to stock mikg - let the phone boot. then reboot back into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik again and then flash 1.03.

that should keep your settings and apps and be back at stock mikg.

I bet there will many more themes released for this rom in the coming weeks

the oops something went wrong typically only happens to me when my nandroid was incomplete/corrupt

ussually when I made the nandroid I was low on space/ did not have the space required on my sd card to save what it was trying to save

yeah that's what I initially thought was the problem. But Kelita said she has 4.3 gigs of free space on her SD card.

Exactly! I'm just shaking my head, wondering what went wrong. Looking back, I'm glad I started out using CWM because I *know* it works. I'm glad nothing went wrong with flashing to MikG because I would have been dead in the water using RA. I wish I could use it, or at least figure out how to fix the errors, because I liked it. To have the nandroids say backup complete and have a large file tells me it went right but I'm not about to brick my phone to find out.

So, while I deal with this today, flashing back to 1.02 then up again to 1.03, anyone have a good, solid way to reinstall apps without using TB and doing them one by one? It takes soooooooo long.

Also, I'll do some searches today to see if I can find out what went wrong. If I do, I'll be sure to let y'all know.

Edit, Drew, do you think instead of reflashing 1.02, I could just install the complete 1.03 (instead of the update) and save a step?

1: do you have the paid version of titanium? I do the batch install with no issues. the key to installing apps this way is to only install the apps NO DATA. titanium batch defaults to apps & data. so before starting the batch just check the apps only selection, then select deselect all and then just install the ones you need/want. maybe just do 10 at a time?

or go to the market and get the appbrain app. log in with your google and let it sync. then after the fresh install just get appbrain from the market and select synch again. this will install all your apps fresh from the market. once all of your apps have been re-installed you can remove appbrain from your phone if you want.

I think you can flash the same rom over itself just like it was a theme and not lose your settings and apps.

I do this from time to time after a theme I don't like and it works (as long as its the same rom). I know you should keep settings, not sure on apps as I use apps2sd and they for sure wont get written over by a rom.

you may want to try deleting the complete nandroid folder from your sd card and let RA make a fresh folder the next time you make a backup. RA is better then CWM in my opion and it should just work. there has to be something wrong...

1. No paid version of TB. I do have appbrain though, although I didn't reinstall it after I flashed. Will do that. I don't like the way TB puts a line through all my apps. When I tried to do a batch reinstall the other night, it wouldn't select those apps anyway, so one by one it was.

hard to say what will happen, but the way I see it is the 1.03 update was just a few apps and the full 1.03 rom would be same as 1.02 only it would just include those newer apps. so it should flash over just fine. I would think this to be ok as updating from 1.02 to 1.03 would give you the full 1.03. I don't think mik would do something like this if it was not the case.


for now I would suggest flashing with RA and maybe using CWM for backups. I say this as clockwork is known to not wipe dalvik correctly. RA does a much better job at wiping. but you can always try, if you wipe with clockwork make sure to wipe cache and dalvik a couple of times just to make sure.

well if you deleted the HT folder (the HT1010101 is your phones serial type of number) you won't have anything there to restore. the folder will be remade when you make your next backup. I'm not sure if this will fix you RA issue, its just something to try. and I was actually thinking of deleting the whole nandroid folder and let RA build a whole new folder on your next backup.

Ok, I'm going to do that and let it make a whole new folder. Those geniuses over at mikmik got me the stock icon zip and I'm back to normal. Now to figure out the RA issue. I'll let you know Drew if the remade folder works.
