Root 06 mountdl script

it does

im on cm7 light with 3mb cache and i use market as normal downloading big things

im wondering if your sdcard is still borked even though its a newish one

reason i mention this is it seems you have loads of issues with whatever roms you use

FC issues on miui, market issues on light

myself and hadron are on 7.0.3 light with no problems on market at all

Yup, fine here. I'm actually using the blacked-out market (2.3.4) rather than the latest or the one in the gapps package, but that should not matter.

Surely if I dont use DarkTremor the sd card doesn't enter into it? If I run a custom MTD 100 5 for instance, everything runs smooth. I try to download Titanium BU to start re-installing apps and it attempts to download for a couple of seconds and then gives up, no error messages FC's or anything! I resumed it was this script thingy?

XJMiui ran fine eventually, the problem was the language pack version I was using.

ahh ok, i was just wondering whether you had a2sd and it could be not liking the ext partition

maybe your download folder is full

cant remember the location, hadron knows it

That does sound like the cache full problem.

With a 5MB cache it should have bound /data/local/download to /cache/download (from memory) and use that for market - I know mine does. So as the thread title suggests, I wonder about your mountdl script. But that's part if the rom, and working fine here.

Try quick system info - on mine that tells me I have a 333MB cache...

Yes, it does this if the app is bigger than 5MB. If its smaller, regardless of how much space is on /cache, it will download to cahce regardless so if that partition is full, you wouldnt be able to download apps smaller than 5MB

You aren't using a data2sd, or similar features of DT beta? That could bring SD into the mix.

Otherwise I don't know. Usually these things happen with /caches large enough that the mountdl script doesn't trigger, i.e. 20MB or larger.

You sure? The mountdl script I have can't do that - it just checks cache partition size at boot and makes a link if too small.

I just downloaded a 56kB widget as a test, and the apk went into /data/local/download.

I'll install and then remove the sd card, see what gives.

So your telling me to try a bigger cache value?

How big is your cache and how much space?

Can't say, this was yesterdays unsolved problem and I restored to full fat now, the cache was 5Mb, and directly after a wipe and fresh install wouldn't even let me download Titanuim BU so that I could start restoring. Another odd thing is that when I flashed Gapps, Googlemail wasn't there! Just the market.

What size data partition do I need for CM7 light out of the box and Gapps?

Yep, mines does. Just downloaded an 892.55KB file, its in cache/download/downloadfile.apk

Long shot - could you check ownership and permissions of /cache/download and /data/local/download? Root explorer can do it - long press and select properties. Should be owner system, group cache, permissions rwxrwx--x.
