Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

Just reading through the long thread about Cyanogen and wanted to know do you still have to downgrade to Froyo to install it?

As with anything else in life, if I am incorrect, I stand corrected. I completely forgot that file existed. Thanks, Razorloves, for bringing that to the table.

Thank you, I'm getting ready to install the latest Nightly now. I think I'm going to wipe everything (data/cache/delvik) just for the heck of it.

If you do..... are you going to do a data only restore or how do you plan to get your apps back?

I tried a data only restore the other day and it didn't work out too well for me.

I REALLY wish CM7 was complete. The amount of themes out for it is freakin sweet. I just had to reflash but I stayed with my stock GB. I don't want to flash anything till it's finished. I'm too scared.....lol.

it's unnecessary wiping. but it's your phone & time, have at it ;)

I know it isn't necessary but I haven't done it since the initial install and I've been reading reports that it has been helping speed things up a little...not that they are slow now.

How is overall stability coming along on this? I remember some forced reboots back on 11. Additionally, go launcher would erase my desktop at times. Tia.

I haven't had any reboots since my initial install, I'm using Go Launcher and have not had a problem with it either.

I have had no forced reboots on the last several nightlys, and I use go launcher with no problems.

It's been running great for me using ADWEX.

Question: When installing a nightly, a Dalvik wipe is the only necessary thing to do or should I wipe cache as well?

Steven, I used to get regular reboots on CM7. 2-3 times per day. I never quite pinned down their source, but I haven't gotten them since about nightly #12.

To clarify, I am not necessarily tying it to Nightly #12 itself, just that the time period where I stopped getting reboots was about that time.

Now it's at least as stable as Gingerblur, and in fact, I don't get the occasional lost data connection that I used to get in Gingerblur which caused me initiate a reboot and was, I'd argue, a stability problem.

I'm now on nightly, oh, I don't know... 30 maybe? It's been very solid.

No issues with mine, and I have never had any reboot issues or any issues with go launcher, it has worked great. I just went from 24 to 33 today and it is still running great. I just flash the fix for the camera/camcorder and torch and then the one that is out there to make the keyboard bigger.

Folks, feel free to install #33 if you're looking to give your DroidX an ass kicking.

I went this whole entire time from build#0 with ZERO reboots, and
now my DX randomly reboots.
Build #33 also ate my battery life faster than a Thunderbolt.
Just an fyi, the torch is NOT officially fixed as some may have read in the Changelog.
The Shadow has been added to the list of support for it, it seems.
I flashed back to build#25 just as a precaution, and all is well again.

I've had no reboots on 33 today and the battery has been fine so far.
