Help Red star ads in notification bar??

Possibly that airpush ad system. Might be an app that is using this.

"A slowly growing number of Android app developers have chosen to adopt AirPush, an advertising system that places ads in the Android notification window. "

I believe there is an app in the app store called airpush detector. Might want to check into it.

That's the only thing I can think it might be...

That's exactly what it was! I had 2 apps that had that crap on em. Thanks for the tip and telling me of that app on the market to get rid of em! I think if someone downloads alot of apps, they need that one that detects that air push crap.

Any app that does this to me is getting uninstalled immediately.

In-app ads are fine, but you start tossing shit in the notification panel and you aren't getting ANY ad dollars from me.

Glad I could help. :)
There is also an app that permanantly opts out of airpush. Not sure if it works or not.

Edit: Sure is allot of negative feedback on this app, not sure if the app is bad or the people are just pissed that they would even need it to start with. I agree with them.

2nd edit: Yeah, it's made by the airpush company. It apears to work people are just pissed that they need it.

Wow! I never heard of that before. Are they trying to generate as much bad will as possible? No chance whatsoever that I'd ever use an app with that technology. I agree with everyone else, if I discover one, it's immediately off my phone.

I read a bunch of the reviews and the negativity is a result of people having to install an app to get rid of their ads or just not liking the ads at all.

OP (and anyone else that has experienced air push ads), have you also dropped a single start rating with an explanatory comment? Not only should they be off your phone cm but others needed to know so we can avoid (boycott?) those apps or developers.

You better believe I did!

And somehow, they snuck another in...

wow...that makes me want to punt kittens, and punch puppies in the face...

seriously i hope i never run into an app that gives me one of those ads...

I have the new Samsung Galaxy S4 and apparently they have the Airpush detectors built in. For those of you who don't have this phone, u can download the app "Airpush detector" to find out what app u downloaded that gave them permission to send u advertisements to ur phone. For those of u who do have Galaxy 4, just press and hold on the notification itself until "app info" pops up, click on that and it will tell u exactly which app is sending u advertisements....delete the app and stars are gone!! Yaya
