Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

I'm going to work up a % battery mod for this. I liked the battery from the alpha. Once I get my puter back I'll post it up.
O, I'll post up the Mario battery also. :D

Is it the talk boxes? I have that in MIKg 2.45 and it is FAR better.

I also had out of sync messages big time in the stock app..messages would come in at 2 minutes ahead so if i responded they would be all off.

Just curious the differences between this ROM and the MIKg 2.45. which is sense 2.0 + 3.0.

Yeah the talk boxes.. I had that issue with text not coming in on time with my Stock Gingerbread before I got rooted.. I think that is a network issue..

Mik3D is all sense 3.0 flash it and see how you like it.. I love it.. I feel like I have upgraded my phone without really upgrading it..

I flashed this last night and I do not have Swype. I can not type any other way on here. Anyway to get it installed? I thought all these roms come with Swype now?

You can sign up for the beta program through Swype. Not sure of the website but you can download the latest beta from them and install it. There are also some themed keyboards out that are install-able apks and I believe some are Swype.

Nice..I want to track down a list of the differences or maybe wade through some threads.

I know the mik3d is not as stable yet, and the 2.45 is sooooooo smooth and responsive that i don't want to just flash and try out 3d yet.

But of course I am curious what else i get besides the panoramic camera.

mik3d is sooooo stable even though it is a beta. make anandroid backup and check it out at least.

Agreed! Not an issue so far and great battery life for the stock kernel. Only thing I would like are mods/themes for it but those will come with a "stable" release.

I know you love it..uggh..yes I must do this. Any known bugs that I should be aware of in the latest version or does everything work as expected? I have seen some posts that gave me caution.

Download ROM, install to root of phone, wipe cache, data, davich, run superwipe, install ROM then kernel of choice...correct? (sorry..will be my first flash since MikG).

And when I make the nandroid, what boxes should i check?

The rom comes with the stock kernel so no need to flash one if you don't want to. I check all but recovery on every nandroid. It might be overkill, but I don't want to miss anything :)

So I have two links I keep handy to remind myself what to do when nandroiding, flashing, etc:

For instructions on nandroids, etc:
Main Page - Evorootwiki

And for the process each time you flash a new rom (from themimik):
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...FFqbG5ZTnA3a29tS1pta1Q3YnlQMHc&hl=en_US&gid=3

(I skip #15 & 16, but stick to the rest, and usually have flawless installs).

So in my zeal to flash this I forgot to wipe data and just flashed it over Mikg 2.45  Funny thing though is it seemed to work pretty damned well! It was glitchy in some spots though so I decided to do the full wipe and try again and see if there is a difference. :)

It is absolutely amazing though from what I saw. So smooth and responsive and the battery drain was next to nothing!

I will post the difference in the wipe/no wipe method :)

yep the order sounds roght just make a nandroid first. and the first three is checked plus wimax. you only need one nandroid with wimax checked and saved on your computer. after that just the first three is fine.

I'm in complete agreement, very stable, I haven't had any force closures or random reboots since flashing last night.
I'm going to whip up a few notification bar mods after I get my puter back. I gots to have me sum % battery! What are you looking for?

super mario theme battery mod would be awesome! cant wait.

Yeah...I might be needing a mario themed battery as well

This ROM is more stable than the early mikg ROMs (everything before 2.4 for sure) and it is so easy to play around with! No glitches since I did the superwipe with more memory as well so that pretty much puts to rest whether you should wipe before flashing mik Roms. :)

I added Golden Monkey 1.1...gonna see how the effects everything. Stock kernal was working well so hopefully this doesnt lower anything :)

Any suggestions on what I should set setcpu at?

Hmm.. I know ocn has posted his setcpu setup. Wanna say with screen on it was 245/1190 (overclock) and screen off was 128/245 or something like that.

He'll know (obviously) :)

i'm currently trying out the aggressive freedom .85 kernel. i'm using setcpu with 245/1190 settings with a smartass governor. no need for a screen off profile w smartass governor.

Battery mod would be nice. Hoping that the glass theme for 2.45 gets ported to the 3D rom. I would think it will when this is released as an RC.

Hey guys ... Im overclocked to 1228 and remaining stable. I figured I would let you guys know ... I know some of you are holding back for the fear of rebooting/ and being unstable. So far so good. ( Keep in mind Im on GM 1.1 )
