Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

Figured out the wifi thing. The wifi notifier does not always come up. So basically you have to just go into settings wifi and it shows all the available networks. Once you do that, it syncs right up and is definitely quite fast.

I was able to get 2 confirmations on my previously posted bugs with 4G enabled.

Mail app not working, Camera Flash not working, WiFi Hotspot won't connect 4G.

Also to add it was pointed out by a user on themikmik.com that the flashlight app will not work while 4G is enabled either.

Was real pumped up, getting ready to download this rom, and site was down. :( The irony of visiting wifi, only to have the site down. Hopefully this weekend! Really looking forward to it.

WiFi hotspot won't work with 4G regardless, it only works with 3G. The wireless teather app will work with 4G.
On another note I've got my puter back, but I have to work out a few bugs. I should be able to post up a Mario % battery and the % battery from the alpha releases. Hopefully. Sorry folks. :(

You know, I think this is always true with the sprint hotspot. Seems like people have to use the market wifi tether app to hotspot with 4g.
Damn! Granite is on top of things! And fast too!

anyone having issues mirroring ? I am .... Im on GM 1.1

i do not think that teamwin has made a kernel to run with gingerbread yet. i think that they are working on it. once they do have it, most likely all of the current kernels will get the supprot to run the teamwin hdmi mirroring app.

Been going with this ROM (w/stock kernel) for at least 2 full days and has not FC once since I got a clean install. Nothing new to report, I also have the flash (and flashlight) not working while 4G is on, and the 720p camcorder setting not working right. A few issues similiar with hotspot and tethering related to 4G as well but able to be resolved using wireless tethering. It was previously reported that the 4G icon was not showing up, but I can see it. I can also watch you tube with no problems.

I also noticed the weather apps sometimes are not loading data but I wonder if that is related to a built in battery/power management system shutting down GPS??

Now, I have a few questions about Setcpu. I installed it, set up a few profiles and then compared a few benchmarks. I do think I have extra battery life, but I don't know if I can attribute this to Setcpu or the ROM. I am wondering if the ROM has some principals similiar to Setcpu built into it?

I have an extended battery I just bought. I have read that the phone will read the battery no matter what size as if it was a stock battery. Meaning that the completed charging indicator light will come on when at the point of when the original battery would have been charged. This creates a false sense.

Overall this ROM is excellent.

no this rom does not have the ability to scale the cpu like setcpu does. however, mik always optimizes and trims the fat off of his roms so that they are small and very fast. and i think that the mik3d is odexed as well.

For the short time i had MikG loaded I took a play with the Wifi app. What I noticed was that when my 4G was turned on it said "share your 3G/4G connection". I noticed Mik3D does not make this distinction. It will be next week some time before I am back in the city and can check the difference however.

I did do some testing today while in the city and found the Wifi App from the rom was resulting in 3-5MB download and 1-2MB upload, while the market app was giving 3-7MB download and .5-1MB upload. Tethered wireless to my laptop running Kubuntu 11.04. I found the varied results interesting as it was the middle of the night and I was sitting in the same spot during the entire testing process.

I also tried with and without the 4G "fix" mentioned in the tethering thread and saw no difference.

The be honest I am running this ROM with just the stock kernel that it gets flashed with and I have had awesome battery life...upwards of 20+ hours on a single charge.

Day 3, and my battery with stock kernel is pretty bad. Only getting upwards of 16 hours tops. I'm flashing the GM1.1 tonight. Way better results with setcpu on alpha 1

Anyone having any text issues?

the autocorrect is beserk, type in house, it gives me Isuzu, most of the time it converts everything to Spanish and/or some other language.

Everytime I type a word in English, I have to save it.
I can't seem to find how to change the setting.

All of these are pretty nice, but I am looking to mainly change the status bar icons.

I assume that will come when the themers over at themikmik get hold of a stable release. In the meantime keep an eye on the thread for this rom over there, I know at least one person created their own Sprint Lover's icons and shared (post #385).

Downloading this bad boy right now and about to flash. I've tried Kings Shooter and Evolved Sense 3.0. It's been a busy (or not so busy depending on how you look at it) day.

That was exactly what I was looking for, well almost...I wish it had the speedo battery gauge. I have no idea how I missed that post...damn work always getting in the way of my fun.:D
