Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

I installed the supercharger..I believe that has also changed the game as my phone is insanely fast now. I set it to 8. Only thing I did not do was install the script that the guy recommended in one of the last steps of the supercharger instructions on XDA.

I instead followed a walk through tutorial for another phone that seemed to work.

Anyway..it may be in my mind, but this ROM smokes. And I have 231 MB free internally, where my old stock setup was at 50.

This is so much better than the stock setup..texts are super fast..everything is better. The stock setups are awful and do not take advantage of the phone at all.

I do not see myself switching from the MIK, just flashing the final stable release and that is all.

Do you happen to have a screenshot of this? This isn't the speedo battery gauge mod right?

Go to the Mario theme link in my signature, and scroll down to post 50 or so, I have screenshots of what the Mario battery looks like. I'll try to post up a screenie in here tonight.
Also I'll look for the speedo zip and mod that into a zip for this Rom.

I just got done getting the Speedo Battery mod together.

I did not create this mod, I just ported in to work with Mik3D Beta 1. ;)

1. As always Nandroid First
2. Wipe cache partition x3
3. Wipe Dalvik cache x3
4. flash
5. hopefully enjoy!

As with the Mario Battery mod, I haven't tested this yet. Please post back and let me know if there are any issues. :)

Is this the V6 supercharger script or something else? I read something about a V8 script but can't find it now. I would like to try this as well.

i want this on my phone.:D:D:D:D:D

Chuck Norris once flashed a rom so well, it rooted a phone on the otherside of the world!

I'm looking forward to some more granite themes.

So I have now been running this for a while and I can honestly say I have no desire to change. In fact, I am dreading an update for this because I love it so much! I think I lucked out in the "Flashaholics" stuff because I chose Mikg first and now Mik3D. I have no need to look for anything better :) In fact, it even has quelled my desire to upgrade phones, this makes the Evo the best phone on the market imho.

BTW I find that my regular battery does almost as well as my extended so I am dropping my extended for a bit. I get a day out of a charge even at my highest use (have setcpu set to 844/245 with screen off of 422/245 and overnight at 384/245) and the thing just rocks. Later this week I will do the v6 supercharger and see what that does.

Oh and Granite, I am going to do the Mario battery mod later today (after the phone charges) just to make my friends all super jealous! It looks awesome :) Nice work man!

And thanks everyone in the forums, you guys have all been the best!

Okay, just checked the site and it actually looks like the whole site was restructured. The php files have changed also. Went from something like /forum/showthread.php to /forumpost.php ---you get the idea.

Here's what worked for me (now I just need some highspeed)
Mik3D - Beta 1 - [8/15/2011]

I agree about these MIK ROMS..all I have used, but I really do not desire anything else. It just works so fast and smooth. Compared to the stock HTC/Sprint ROM, this is just 1,000 times better..it really is like I have a new phone. I also added Mario's battery monitor..it looks cool..I notice it seems to drop in terms of 20% though..100 - 80-60-40 are common and it will hold there for a while and then drop 20 again.

I just got a new OEM battery and charged it last night..I calibrated it with the battery calibrator app, but maybe I need to calibrate Marios theme as well?

Anyway, I am trying something different..instead of charging the phone every night while I sleep, I am going to just leave the battery at 60% while I sleep and then juice it a little when I wake back up. Maybe this will help me with battery life instead of juicing it to 100% all the time..ill just do the 100% charge now and then.

And one other question..we can't undervolt the EVO yet with Mik3D can we?

Does that seem to also help with battery life?

under and or overclocking your phone requires that you have a custom kernel which also controls the voltage as well. do you have a kernel yet? try golden monkey or freedom kernels. its the only two we have so far.

Yes I do have GM and utilize SetCpu, but I did not think that undervolted the battery as well.

you are correct. the current set of kernels do not have static undervolting which is how we can undervolt the phones. we can only set the cpu speeds. but even that will help out in battery life. plus the freedom kernels now have havs kernels as well. which can also help out with battery life.

Well, apparently I need to do some research and update the way the phone displays the battery %. I have images in the mod for 1% battery increments, but its only showing up in increments of 20%. I'll stop over at xda and see if I can round up a solution.
My Mario battery mod has over 200 images in it, so if the phone isn't displaying all of them its wasting space. I need to remedy that, can't go around wasting peoples space all day.....

Working on that myself. Got the xml edited for the other pngs but trying to get it recompiled to flash. Might just push it to /system and see if it works first.

I'm not versed well enough to edit the xml's yet. You might be able to teach me a thing or two!
Once I find the script that tells the phone how to display the battery, we're golden.

Granite. For now I will uninstall the theme. Dumb question, how do I do that? Lol.

You need to nandroid back. I'm sorry, that's the only way I know of how to remove the theme.
Wait, I might be able to remove the stock res folder and create a stock theme update.zip to being you full circle. If you can wait, I'll post up one of those tonight.
Once again this battery mod worked perfect on MikG. Sense 3.0 strikes again!

Still learning myself. The xml is in the drawable folder.....stat_bat I think is it. I used notepad ++ to edit it.

I'm kinda new to rooting. I've been looking for a new rom to try and everyone seems to like Mik3D. I tried sprint lovers but that resembled that normal rom that come with the phone
I'm using a 2.3.3 evo 4g. Can I use this with my phone. Does the 3d mean that it's meant for the 3d evo only?

Do I need anything else to flash this rom?
