Root EVO_Radio_2.15.00.08.08: Flash Procedure

This did not work for me, I use the MIK2.45 Rom an error.
I did the following:
1. Wiped cache dalvik
2. Tried to Flashed zip, went to (install zip from sdcard) from recovery.
It tryied to run and gave me this error.

Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages. Installation aborted.

Not sure how to proceed.

are you using the clockworkmod recovery?? that might have something to do with it... not totally sure....im using Amon Ra Recovery and it updated just fine...

I am using the clockwork recovery.

more than likely that has something to do with it....Amon Ra is HIGHLY touted on here and its advised to using that recovery over clockwork....clockwork and rom manager are supposed to be really buggy....everyone in this thread is probly using Amon Ra and they have all been updating it just fine...

Yeah, read in here where you need something like the Amon Ra recovery to do some of this stuff now. do you know where to find it in the rooting for dummies gingerbread version sticky?

There is a part called changing recoveries. you will be good to go!

just to let y'all know about that error. google used to use this script called amend but they eventually went away from amend and started to use edify scripting. clockwork mod is the only recovery that went along with google and clockwork mod 3 and higher only supports this script. not sure why but most roms and other flashable zip files uses amend scripting still. however clockwork mod 2.6 will support both edify and amend. the other recoveries that support both are amon ra 2.3 (the one recommended) and teamwin's TWRP.

ahhhh so clockwwork mod 3 only supports the edify script....got it...yet another reason why Amon Ra is better than Clockwork....thanks for the info ocn

You inspired me! i flashed to new radio too, don't know if it will help anything but it went smooth, thankfully!

from what everyone has been saying, they have noticed an improvement in 3g d/l and u/l speed....i know mine is better...my signal seems better too....i have one spot in the house that for some reason it will drop down to 1 bar...but since i flashed the radio its not going down in that spot anymore...so im not complaining lol...

make sure you make a nandroid backup with your wimax keys...

but that procedure is correct...just wipe the cache and dalvik cache, flash the radios zip and just read what it puts on the screen...when you reboot the first time a little green circle with an arrow in it will show up, then it will reboot you back into your recovery...when it does just reboot again and your all set

I'm not sure whats going on here but you copy pasted what i posted in another thread. http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/407459-sprint-radio-update.html

But yes that will work properly.

i changed it and credited to you....i wasnt trying to make it seem like it was mine if thats how you took it...

They are kinda sucky for instructions but with the way the thread was titled and the OP only having 17 posts it did kinda throw me a bit. no worries though. But yah I always try to give props when im going to copy/paste. If i reword it from memory thats diff.

wipe cache and dalvik cache then flash it....after you flash it you'll see text that tells you to reboot....just go to reboot in your recovery menu....then it will go to another screen with a green circle with an arrow in it...after its done it will reboot back into your recovery.....just select reboot again in your recovery and you should be good to go....just make sure you have a nandroid with your wimax keys backed up and saved somewhere...
