Hopefully you are right and I'm wrong but I don't see the i515 as a different device than the i510 aka Charge. Seems like a natural progression to me. We will find out soon enough.

I hear what you are saying. i510 to i515 is a good match for a super Charge.
But the Charge has only been out for about 4 months and I think that it is to early for the Charge 2.

Verizon passed on the SGSII and I do not believe that the Charge 2 will be the next best thing. If it is then Verizon really #!&* up.

Droid 2 and Droid 2 Global. Verizon #$%&*@ everything up :)

I for one don't put anything past them especially when it comes to their equipment.

So if this is called Charge 2, do you think it will be like Charge with only processor upgraded to dual core? I think it will be nearly the same as other Nexus Primes hardware wise but with verizon bloatwares, TW. But Droid Prime sounds whole lot better to me than Charge 2.

Yes I think it will be a processor (Dual Core), RAM, TW upgrade. I also don't think it will be a comparable device to the Nexus. Nexus will release with ICS i515 won't. Probably no NFC and an entirely different processor.

Going based off what was said on this last page here....and Verizon's handling of the Bionic....

Droid Charge 2 will be announced alongside Nexus Prime for other carriers, But wont be out until next august after its been revised 100 times to match specs. By which time we will be getting ready for quad core Nexus. yep.

Ha! So true! I do hope that Verizon knows that they had better do a little better than the Bionic (release date and spec wise) this go-round.

So you think no HD screen, no ICS if it's Charge 2? That is quite pessimistic prediction I think.

Actually Samsung already has phone like Charge 2 that you think. It's Celox (LTE SGS2) unveiled in Berlin a few weeks ago. Though it's nice phone too, I don't think Prime on verizon will end up being that one. I believe i515 is just CDMA version of GT-I9250.

With regard to the i510 to i515 issue, I'm reminded of the old Incredible days. The DROID Eris was model number 6200 and the incredible ended up being 6300. I guess you could call this a natural progression, but if you all recall, the incredible was a HUGE upgrade to the Eris. The incredible turned out to be Verizon's equivilant/answer to the nexus one specs wise. This leads me to believe that the i515 could in fact be a monster upgrade from the charge.

I'm going with what Kellex wrote and was posted above. I have been following this guy for a long time and I have never seen him say that something is confirmed unless it is. There are many blogs with a ? beside the rumor and his acknowledgement that he is hyperbeasting. Such has been the case about the "whatever" Samsung phone until now.

Unfortunately yes......

The nagging issue I have is with the designation of this handset. Its not i6xx its i515. That has me concerned and its bothered me for some time (even mentioned it a while back)

If it were i6xx or i7xx I would be a little more optimistic. That would tell me it is in fact a new model and not only an upgraded device.

Again I could be totally off base here.

Good point. If it's like going from i510 to i511, I would be worried too. But I think +5 is enough numerical increment for big upgrade like Charge to Prime. Aside from this model number argument, there is no indication that verizon is getting phone like Celox spec yet.

Would you rather have a Porsche 930 or a 944? I don't think you can draw too many relative conclusions from model numbers.

Basically that was my point. But CK seems to think +5 is too small increment for i515 to be phone like Prime. Time will tell soon. But I'm optimistic that it will be phone with spec like Prime.

I think you're reading into model numbering too much. Really don't think you can draw any conclusions as it tends to be sequential and nothing more. Case in point with Sprint:

Epic 4G (Galaxy S phone): SPH-D700
Nexus S 4G: SPH-D720
Epic Touch 4G (Galaxy S II phone): SPH-D710

Honestly I don't think black man x would be hyping this at all if it were just a charge 2. He's been hinting at a nexus device since the Thunderbolt launch. While I don't really care for the poems or teases, his info is usually solid. And when something disappoints, he's the first to bash it. I'm pretty certain there will be a nexus device on Verizon.

That's what I've been trying to say...just not as well. Poems aside, the guy clearly knows something. I just wish there was more info on the keyboard hint. Shouldn't be long.

Yeah he may be reading into the model numbering too much, but your post seems to further validate his opinion in some ways. I say this because his point is that based off the numerical sequence it doesn't seems as substantial of an "upgrade" (or nexus prime status), simply going off the model number, and the phones you used as an example are phones that follow the same product line on sprint (regardless of which was released first doesn't really seem to make a difference). So if Droid Charge was i510 and "Droid Prime" is i515, it may not be that ICS phone that people are hoping it to be. Of course this is all in fact speculation, but really thats all we have to do round' here.
