Now that we have all your colleagues attention. Why don't you all follow Sprints, T-Mo's and AT&T's lead and carry ALL the cutting edge equipment? You guys are constantly behind the tech curve. We get all the Android scraps and watch ALL the good equipment go elsewhere.
The minute the other carriers get their acts together and build out a great network. People WILL leave Verizon for better equipment. The ONLY thing that keeps a lot of us with you is the network. Thats it. Once the playing field is leveled, and it will be, a lot of us will leave because of your failure to provide the latest and greatest equipment.
Since you passed up the SGSII all of us are expecting something stellar. A simple refresh of an existing phone will not cut it.
I don't want to leave on a negative note so I will say that Verizon's customer service is second to none. This is a fact. Phenomenal customer service!
All right, I had to come out of my self-imposed exile after all of this nonsense. (Note to Droidette: When I announced my departure, you thanked me. Don't know how to take that, exactly.

)
VZwired seems to be an actual Verizon employee in the know, so I'll go by what he says November-wise. It jigs with what my sister has been saying, so that's not surprising.
As far as Verizon not having cutting edge tech, the simple answer is because
they don't have to. I'm sure that is what VZwired would say if he wanted to tell the truth without caring about offending anyone.
They have the best, speediest network available at this time. Once Sprint, TM, and AT&T begin to compare, then we might see Verizon pick up the ball a bit more, but I highly doubt it, for 2 main reasons:
1. The simple fact is that most people in the general Verizon customer population simply don't care about the same specs that we do. They want something that works and looks pretty. Most of all Android devices have good phone reception and look similar. Then there's the iPhone, which will gobble up most of those who have an upgrade to burn, because those people go for brand recognition and just don't care about the quality of their phone as much as we do.
2. Do you think Sprint won't go to tiered data eventually? They will. Once that happens, it's over for us who are on unlimited data. We'll be stuck. I'd much rather stay on a so-so phone with unlimited data then go to the Nexus 6 on Sprint with a 2GB per month cap. What's the point of having the ability to stream HD movies, watch football games in real time, surf the web in a split second, etc., if I can't use those features?
Verizon has us where they want us. Right now, it's network over better phone tech elsewhere. Later, it will be unlimited data over tiny data caps elsewhere.
If you honestly want to go with high tech equipment, you should switch to Sprint now. They have great quality phones now, and those phones will only get better as their network expands into real 4G.
As for me, I'm stuck with Verizon because my wife doesn't want to pay the early termination fees, and she loves the iPhone. Plus, Sprint sucks right now in our area, and I don't want to put up with that for the who-knows-how-long it takes for Sprint's 4G to really become competitive.
VZ, I hope you're right. Enjoy your lunches, you secretive little weasels.
