Root [ROM] GB Miui For DX!! (1.9.16.1)

to add a ringtone to a contact, select contact, then menu button, edit contact, and choose the ringtone :p


btw to give an idea of battery life, i have to have my phone in airplane mode at work, because if i dont i will surely die before 12, trying to constantly search for a signal. yesterday i got here at 8 and went to lunch with my mother and sister(her birthday) took my phone off airplane mode, still reading 100% however after about 5-8 text messages it went to 90% when i left it was at 80% so i think miui has good battery life
 
Battery life on this version does seem to be a huge improvement from previous MiUi roms. not the best out there but still good none-the-less
 
I have an extended battery and took it off the charger when I got up in the morning.

I had two phone calls, about 30 minutes total yesterday and the only other use was to check for updates in Market and Amazon and take two pictures.

At bedtime I was down to 5%. Calls was 30% of my battery used.
 
well maybe you have a rogue app eating data which is burning up the battery, my gps stays on and hasnt been turned off since i started the 2init process, however i should turn it off because what good will it do me if the phone is dead.... :p

but my battery right now after a good amount of use is at 70%
 
ok does anyone know how to change the facebook upload sound. i change the notification sound in facebook app but it still plays the obnoxious loop.
 
I'm on .605, now. I assume that if I restore miui GB, which is for .602, I'll give my DX diarrhea. Correct?
 
Last weekend I updated muiu to ver 1.9.9 - I read that all previous builds to this one is on FY, but when I got to settings>about phone> The Android Version states 2.3.5 , Build number MIUI 1.9.9. The kernel still seems to be FY, 2.6.32.9 - AM I on froyo still? or is it just too early and I'm reading these versions wrong, 1.9.16 would come after 1.9.9 - the nines just throwing me off, that and the 2.3.5 -

A little help here, I'm prepared to sbf to .602>root>install - just want to make sure before I do so -

EDIT: PS the stock browser (or so what I've been told is the pre-loaded muiu browser) is in the market labeled "Miren Browser", I have apk if need be.
 
I really want to flash this ROM - I'm on .605 - do I need to revert back to .602 or earlier?
 
The only change on 605 is supposed to be the keyboard so I'd create a backup in recovery (in case you don't like it), back up your apps with Titanium Backup and flash it. :D
