It actually looks like he flashed Icarus bad and the effects carried over to cm6 ( trust me, it happens. I had some weird stuff happen before with stuff hanging over from a previous flash, specifically my wallpaper remaining after flashing from Icarus to cm6)

My suggestion, reflash Icarus and make sure its working right or flash stock and do the same.
Then try cm6 again
 
Ahaha Yeah I think so. Dont matter. I share. Ahaha Just givin you a hard time. I couldnt get the original ones to flash. I kept getting "error code 0" then I read somewhere about if you get "error code 0" in CWR if you swap out a file in your rom and put it in the the file you are trying to flash and it will work. Sure enough it did. Those are meant for 2.3.5 but I even got them to flash to BobZ's 2.3.4
 
Hi guys,

I am having some trouble. Last build installed was 07272011by PlayfullGod. Had some camera crash issues so tried to update to 09122011........

I just ended up hanging at the boot screen the tron ascend logo.

Clockwork recovery is messed up I can't flash over the top of it and reinstall it. The boot into that mode using vol down, call, power doesn't work.

I managed to get it recovered to stock, installed Z4root, then clockwork mod from the market place... I can boot to recovery from within clockwork mod from the ROM manager application version 4.4.0.7 But the flashed version of Clockworkmod is 3.0.0.5. I have tried updating it via usb push from fastboot to 3.0.2.8 but it will not go. I still can't boot into recovery using the vol,call + power.

I think I need the latest version of clockwork mod to get the sdcard extension properly formatted to install 09122011 but I am bumping my head against something....

ClockWork Mod Recovery 3.0.2.8 (the folder says 3.0.2.4, but it's 3.0.2.8) You install it the same way that Tokenpoke shows you at the beginning of this thread.
 
Heres an easy way to replace the 3.0.0.5 CWR with an "unofficial" CWR with out ever flashing it. I learned it from PG on a post he made on another forum. Flash the 3.0.0.5 recovery in ROM manager, then download the 3.0.2.4 or the 3.0.2.8 recovery and then in your file manager open the clockwork folder and rename the 3.0.2.4 or 3.0.2.8 recovery you downloaded the same thing as the one RM flashed and paste over the one in the clockwork folder with the 3.0.2.4 or the 3.0.2.8 that you renamed. ANd when you reboot into recovery youll boot into whatever one you replaced the 3.0.0.5 with.

It will not install for me using that method. I get the logo screen using fastboot then attach the cable click abd then fastboot then install recovery for windows. It is almost like the install recovery never fully writes.

I then try using vol up, call and power and it just boots into operating system.....

Just to be clear...
You hold vol up and call, and while never letting up on them you tap power, and only let up on vol up and call when it's gotten beyond the white Huawei screen. Correct? And it still won't boot into recovery?

Yes, that is correct... I take the battery out wait 20 sec at least hold volume up and the call (not getting it confused with hangup and my call button works) tap power....... wait and it will load the andriod OS installed...

However if I do rocker up and call end I get a firmware update step 1/2 unpacking update failed with blinky lights on my navigation buttons.

Right, that's how you can flash back to stock.
If you're having real issues with recovery, and it's not installing right for you no matter what, you COULD always flash back to stock, then root, install CWM, reflash to whatever you wish, then reinstall and sync whatever you had on there. When worst comes to worst, and I'm having an issue that I absolutely can't get straightened out, that's what I'll do. Start from the beginning with everything fresh and new. It's a bit time consuming, though. Reinstalling all those apps takes a while. But, when I'm done, everything is nice and right.

Yes I have flashed back to stock. Rooted and installed CWM... Then tried flashing latest playfullGod mod.... I get stuck on the bootloader screen Nice blue android tron with ascend written under him.... That is as far as it gets... I am thinking it is becuase I don't have the right CWM installed working on trying the back door but am unsure what file is the right CWM file but am working on it.

I have reflashed stock, I think 5 times now.

Not exactly sure what file was flashed originally... I tried this but must have been the wrong file because when I boot into CWM it still says 3.0.0.5 ....

But now I can boot into CWM using the buttons but it still is 3.0.0.5

Tried mounting sd-ext from CWM 3.0.0.5

error mounting /sd-ext

formated /sdcard
done.
formated /sd-ext @ 128m 32m swap
done.

mount /sdcard
no problem

mount /sd-ext
E:failed to mount /sd-ext (no such device)
Error mounting /sd-ext
 
ALright since you already have CWR, download this: 3.0.2.8 recovery.img

Now go into your file manager into the Clockwork folder. (Just keep pressing the folders to your get to the recovery. What ever that recovery is named thats in that folder rename the one I just gave you to the same name. And replace the other one with the new one.

If it says you dont have an ext you didnt partition.

ok dowloaded the file renamed it 611006109 and replaced the file of the same name in/sdcard/clockworkmod/download

rebooted into recovery and it shows v3.0.0.5
 
Finally got it to install playfullGod's build 09122011

I did a factory reset formatting everything including devik
installed the build 0912011
installed the g apps from the link above
rebooted system
after a couple minutes got the Driod..... sound

so far so good

is working great so far no lag on the keyboard, camera works great. Sd card partition allows apps to be moved to card.

even though I am metro pcs customer I have had no need to flash the roaming off package, messaging works just fine. Maybe it stayed flashed from previous build? I did not like the notification that came with the latest build of mettoff anyway.

I have had some problems with previous builds and the ability to mount usb for file transfer. Usb mounts just fine for file transfer on this version.

I dont MetrOff either and everything works fine.
