The reason Verizon has been so off base with any Android phone is because of Microsoft. Microsoft is trying to get a big piece of the pie in the cell business again. They have been it a lot longer then anyone else.
And to sum it up, Verizon and Microsoft have been partners from the get go.:(

I said this a few pages back....wouldn't that be hysterical if the i515 was a Windows phone? Hey it can happen.....

This place would erupt in riots and AF's would be looted and burned down.

I have no doubt about what you are saying. But it is just an opinion and Microsoft is working on some deals. They are trying to gain some ground from the cell business just like Apple is.

I can care less about Microsoft and Apple but it's business.

WP is peace of crap, and looks so. If there is going to be a WP leading time, I'm going to dig some ashes, for me and for some interested. Anyone?

These were the good ole days! That thread moved at a furious pace with lot's of leaks, pics, etc. Too bad we don't have the same type of activity in this thread. Where's NKT when you need him? :)

Btw, I bought my Incredible on launch day and it's been rock solid since then. Can't wait to upgrade to whatever the new Sammy phone running ICS will be called.
 
Just to be optimistic here:

SOMETHING (or two) is/are coming out on Verizon.
SOMETHING is coming out with ICS (or close to it).
Samsung IS introducing stuff October 11th.
Verizon IS releasing devices on November 3rd and 17th.

The odds that there will be no Android superphone on Verizon by Thanksgiving are negligible. Windows phone? Long shot. iPhone? Sure bet... but we're not considering it right now.

I am still betting on the Prime (or something similar) on Verizon within 2 months. Even if it's an SGS2 HD LTE: most of us were ready to pull the trigger on SGS2. An upgraded, BETTER one? Be honest: we'll be all over it.

Ah NKT. I tried to PM him but he doesn't seem to be around anymore. Anonimac was really good at making those contacts. He became a mod. He's gone now, too. :(

I agree with The Chief. All signs are pointing to a November release of a Sammy device most likely with ICS. I would be extremely happy if it is a version of the SGS2 HD LTE running ICS even if it came with a bunch of Verizon bloat.

Steven - it's too bad we don't have those contacts active in this thread. Those guys gave us pages upon pages of stuff to talk about. Hey, maybe a secret box will show up at a Verizon store a few weeks prior to release. :p

It's true. I'm going to try to create contacts, again, and there's nothing stopping any of you from trying either. They don't necessarily care about whether you're a mod, guide, senior or junior member or not, methinks.
 
OK. Verizon promised that they will release something better then the SGSII. Granted, I will settle for that and with the news of the SGII-HD it looks very promising.

If the next best thing is to be released in November, then we should see it passing through the FCC within the next two weeks.

I think it would be impossible to release a cell phone only two weeks after FCC passing. It takes time to make millions of these units plus manuals, packaging, etc.. So why would they start production before FCC passing. Maybe the frames,glass and such. Just in case it did not pass the FCC they could use it for a remake.

I think a good rule of thumb is; FCC passing,then release in 30 days.
That seems to be the norm.
 
Droid Life may have put together the clue about the keyboard device. Turns out it's not a Samsung handset. If you follow HoFo a member is talking about the Droid 4 aka Maserati and it's awesome keyboard. DL linked the 2 rumors and I think they may be correct.

This makes me wonder if the speculation about the poem has been off. I will further speculate to pass the time.

If the one with the keyboard is the Droid4, what's to say that the other device isn't also a motorola phone, the Spyder perhaps? What you've said today about moto devices made me remember something a friend of mine told me over the summer. His dad works for motorola. He said October, Verizon, and industry leader. Verizon has been very close with motorola, after all.

This would leave the samsung phone we've all been looking at as possibly a updated Charge as some have speculated.

Just a thought....
 
So this new phones is are coming out in November possibly December but not October. I muss say I wish I had the patience of the Slowski's to wait for it them. Maybe if my Vigor Incredible HD Razmussen whatever the hell they're gonna call it is a killer phone I won't have to wait any longer for it them. But if the said phone stinks, I shall wait.....

I just did a factory wipe on my OGD ditching any of the apps I never use any more and put a new Steinheil Crystal display protector on her and she is all perky again.

I wait.

WP7 runs IE.. quite well, I might add.. modern IE is not like IE of old.. IE8 is decent, but IE9 is actually quite good, competitive with chrome and firefox, imo

I don't think there's any way Verizon would release a Droid 4 before next summer.. I think the DL post was a little more forward looking than just this holiday season

Droid 4 is in testers hands NOW. Its coming out "soon". If not the holiday season shortly thereafter.

At this point, with HTC coming out with a new phone every couple of weeks and Motorola following suit (Droid 3, X2, Bionic, Spyder, etc.) it doesn't surprise me.

I just hope that these frequent releases don't dilute the product quality, but I can't see how they won't.

I almost wish that these companies would follow Apple's plan of releasing one phone per year, but make it a top-notch phone every time. It's a pipe dream, I know.
