Root Evo 4G problem

Ok a few more questions now that I'm on my 2nd day..

I don't seem to have voice search (might not be installed) but I have no swype keyboard

and for some reason each call I make it starts out on speakerphone first.

yeah with aosp roms swype will not be included. but check these out:[Swype] Themes (Updated 08/11). just download it and put it on the card. use a file manger to install the apk.

speakerphone issue sound kind of odd. try and wipe dalvik cache and cache.

not sure on voice search issue. what rom are you on again?

I will check out that Swype stuff.. and I will do a dalvik and cache wipe.

I'm on CM7 now.. I found another issue.. I have no GPS in Google Nav or GPS test.. However if I use another GPS program I start seeing stats

If a wipe does not fix that, that's not good at all :-/

Is this an AOSP rom? I thought Evervolv had only sense roms, but if it's AOSP, don't bother with the GPSCLR or anything like that. All you need to do is flash this driver in recovery.

Your GPS will lock as good or better than it ever did on Sense.

EDIT: I was thinking Evolved. I see that evervolved is AOSP. So yeah, just flash that Qualcomm 1.1 driver in recovery and your GPS will be rock solid.

yeah the link that mizzoubrent posted will work for you. i keep forgetting about the gps driver fix. it will definitely work for you check it out.

Cool I will try them now and see how it works out.

One thing that is odd is if I use the wireless tether program it wont work (hangs) but if I use the built in one it wont work until I reboot the phone..

I rather use the wireless tether program because it has access control and I can see how much data I use.

holy crap.. GPS is working.. and I'm in a room with no windows and it says 9 GPS sats are in view.. I don't think I ever saw a stock driver work that well.

yeah i just noticed that. looks like the keyboard version is older now, and will no longer work. i can't get mine to work right now as well. hopefully the dev will have some time to work on the latest release.

I forgot to say I got swype on here somehow.. I had the download thingy on the phone (must of been apk) and it downloaded and it's fine now.

I've been having less issues now as far as the rom goes.

This was a problem I had a few months back. I had to unroot and have the phone replaced to solve the issue. It sounded like a problem with the charging port... the phone automatically booted into car mode for me. Is it doing the same for you?

(I'm not sure if AOSP has car mode)
