Root ClockWorkMod v5.0.2.7 (file system/recovery utility) update 01/12/12 FIXED

i just need help getting to the CWM menu everytime i try it i get stuck at the samsung screen and i cant do anything except reset my whole phone using odin and thats such a pain. cause it deletes my shabby mod as well >.>. so yea
 
why doesnt the zip file show up in my SD Card?
edit:do i need to turn it in to a zip file? because when i download it, its not a zip file

The only zip file that needs to be put on your SD card is the Stick zip . Everything else can be accessed via Odin . Make sure you follow the directions to a T and put your phone in CWM as soon as it starts to reboot , then go to the stick zip and install it . It's really easy if you follow the directions step by step . If you miss CWM during reboot , start back at step 4 . :D

I did follow step by step but the EE14 stick fix wasn't a zip, so do I just make it a zip?
edit: Well i zipped up the folder anyways and then ran it and it said "installation aborted" so i guess it didn't go through.
re edit:nevermind i just kept doing it and it finally worked
 
Sorry to bother, but what does Clearing Dalvik Cache do and what does Partition SD Card do?
And what can you do after you "fix premisions"?

Over time , your phone will accumulate files that can make it sluggish . Deleting the Dalvik Cache will help speed it back up . You don't need to do this 2 often and when you do , you should reboot your phone afterwards . As for partitioning the sd card , it does what it says it does ........ partitions your sd card in to multiple partitions . I haven't messed with doing that because I really don't need 2 . As for the fix permissions , I dunno what you're referring 2 . I'm sure some of these Guru's in here can better help you out with those questions . :D
 
Hroark I have installed your latest CWM and have a noob question. Did I receive your kernel at the same time? The reason I ask, is because I want to partition my sd card with cwm and I read that in order for this to work I must have your kernel. Also if you would include any tips it would be greatly appreciated as I have already killed one phone with rom manager. thank you for your time and all you do for the prevail community.

it does come with the kernel

back up all files on sd card before you partition it because everything on sdcard will get erased

partition the sdcard in cwm and when it asks for the swap chose 0
 
In about phone my kernel says 2.6.32.9 is that your kernel? I followed the directions exactly on cwm 9-12-11 and wanted to make one last check before I partition this eventing

That's what I though Hroark . I didn't think you would be able to tell just by looking at the kernel version . I just used your ROOTED EE14 CWM w/ kernel the other day and added the App2SD and it's working great !! Thanks again man !!!!! :D
 
it coming up whit 3 tar.it has a rooted pda .tar a boot tar and a phone tar witch one do i rum i have rooted phone and i am running shabbymod0.9 srry i trying to learn all this and have as much fun with this phone as i can

not so much as i got stuck i put the fix on my sd and then moved on to runnin the cwm and that is where i ran in to the prob it just did not pull up like u exp;aind in the box where you just put the one tar it pulls ut the three that was in my first poast i thought it would just be one tar file and it like i said i new at this so it might just be me but thanks for the help if you thank u can help

Exactly where I am now...looking at the three tar files trying to figure out which one im suppose to use...HELP..Please!!!

Well no i dont have that file I must have did it wrong I downloaded EE14_ROOTED_VERSION_WITH_CWM_AND_SHABBY_KERNEL and ran Odin from that zip and followed the instructions when I click one pack I get 3 tars but no the one you said I should have...where can I download the right tar file from??

you downloaded a file from a different thread, the instructions for those 3 files are in the first post of that thread. for that one, there will be a tar for boot, phone, and pda. those names should be somewhere in the filename. the file referenced in the first post of this thread is meant to be used in one package mode, the one you downloaded is not for one package mode

No the file I downloaded was the first zip file under the instructions....so if thats not what I am suppose to be running what file should i be unzipping and puttinginto Odin?
