***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

So, Verizon being Verizon, they wouldn't want a nexus device. I wouldn't think. Don't they like to control the software that's released on their network? I'm not saying anyone isn't credible anymore. I'm just keeping my expectations very low.

Where does it say that? For me, even trying to read between the lines doesn't suggest that big red won't get a Nexus device. Maybe there's 2 phones coming our way and Verizon will push the Droid labeled one and leave the Nexus to the mod community. Just a thought, unlikely, but a thought.

Personally, I could honestly care less about bloat. If the bootloader is unlocked, I'm sure that bloat won't be a problem for any of us anticipating this phone as bloat is a given with Verizon. I don't even think I can buy into the fact that if it's a Nexus that it won't have bloat. It may not have an overlay on top of the pure google experience but I'd be willing to bet that VZW Navigator will be on it. lol

Only the techys and geeks can enjoy a plain jane product. If the every day Joe goes and buys the device without the so called helpful apps, he will return it the next day because the plain OS will confuse him when he was so use to the helpfull lU that was installed on all of his pre cell phones.

i just don't see Google introducing ICS, with LTE, on something other than a traditional Nexus device.

This is what does give me hope. I think it unlikely Google would launch ics without the first device being nexus. I don't know how its happened previously though. Was nexus s launched with gingerbread?

Wishful thinking here, but perhaps they realize how amazingly well the OG Droid did with stock Android and are willing to sacrifice a little control for much higher sales?

if you want to get technical, the poem doesn't even mention Nexus until relatively late in the poem (after reference to "red and black"). at the beginning, all that is said for sure is that a LTE device, with ICS, will release on VZW on 11/3. then it goes on to say that the nexus brand will ride worldwide for other carriers that use GSM and WiMax.

then, in the conclusion, he says "be it a Droid or Nexus branded new toy..." Well, the only nexus reference was with respect to GSM and WiMax radios. so, one could conclude that the Droid reference was to the one going to "red and black".

personally, i don't think that's right. i think VZW gets a pure Nexus device, as numerous sources have been indicating for months, and then it comes out on other carriers a little later. i just don't see Google introducing ICS, with LTE, on something other than a traditional Nexus device.

Yep your right. Verizon will get a LTE with ICS device and the world will get the Nexus GSM - Winmax.

Maybe VZW Will get the Nexus first but I do not like how the stupid poem words it. To me it saying that the world will get it.

OMG....I think I figured something out! According to the poem, by the time Halloween rolls around we'll be able to get our hands on Prime (filling our bellies with something other than candy treats) Because the word "Fore" in the poem is a shortening of "BEFORE"! Which means the Thursday before November 3rd, or October 27th!

That theory went out the window when they got the iPhone.

Regarding all this iPhone stuff? I genuinely don't think one company can compete with samsung, htc, motorola, LG, etc and Google to stay ahead of the curve.

yeah, given VZW's disinclination to allow open/unlocked devices, i don't see it bending over backwards to subsidize the price on a Nexus. imo, it'll be at least 300, and we probably won't see it drop much in price thereafter.

You are not being negative and I don't believe anyone thinks you are. Your opinion is based on past experience and I agree with it.
