***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Although I believe Verizon will get the Samsung Prime sometime, I do not think it will be an exclusive and to think so is just crazy. Google has always relased it for t-mobile first and that probably won't change with this one. I do believe however that every network will get it sooner than the last nexus device.

VZW peeps are going to be disappointed October 11th lol

No one here thinks Prime will be verizon exclusive. It's the first Nexus kind of device coming to verizon. Other carriers like AT&T, T-mobile will get it (GT-I9250) after verizon.

no-they-will-not!
This what you're talking about is about month old thesis, which is just obsolete and out-of-date.

@vz_wired

I hope we've done a respectable job not pestering you too badly for info. I am going to ask a single question and I fully understand if you decline to answer. Not asking for hardware spec verification to avoid pushing my luck. Instead, wtf is the name of this thing anyway:

1.) Samsung Nexus Prime
2.) Samsung Prime (no Nexus identifier)
3.) Samsung Droid Prime
4.) Other

Couple things and guys I know I've already said this before but this gentleman may not have saw it.

Numero uno those are unsubstantiated rumors.

Number 2, MY biggest issue is with the model number. This unannounced Verizon phone is model i515 and if you recall the Charge is the i510. In my opinion that says a lot. To me it says we are looking at the Charge 2 (or whatever name it drops under)

I would feel much better with a i6xx or i7xx or even an i550 designation. Like I said though I could be totally off base but something doesn't sit right with this whole thing.

The scenario that makes perfect sense to me is the Nexus aka i9250 goes to the other carriers and we will get something similiar to the Charge but dual core and with more RAM. I hope I'm wrong.......

I don't think the i515 will be Charge-like at all.

The Samsung Fascniate was SCH-i500. The charge (510) is nothing like the Fascinate. I think they're just model numbers on a list, and whatever is new gets the next one. Like naming hurricanes.

VZW will NOT disappoint us on the 11th. I believe that. I don't see any benefit of debating whether or not vz_wired is genuine in his/her encouragement or not. I'd like to nip any potential argument over what we don't know, in the bud. Moving on.....

Easy, there, Jungle Cat. No one can seriously believe that the third Nexus will be on Verizon and no one else would ever get it. That would be stupid on Samsung and Google's part.

I bet Verizon's "exclusive" will last a month or two.

Thanks for the info :). A charge 2 would be a dissapointment...samsungs UI is very bland.

Never mind, I'm not and I'll not be in verizon or any US carrier ever. So I piss on it.

I think we ticked off VZ.

VZ, I for one believe that Verizon will come out with the Prime on November 3. But some of us, like CK and others, are very skeptical, and I have to say that they have every right to be so.

Many of us haven't been extremely happy with Verizon for passing up on the Nexus devices in the past and then on SGSII. With the high prices we're paying in comparison to others, we expect top-notch phones.

If Verizon comes through in the way you say, my faith in Verizon will be 100% restored. And I'm sure it will.
Agree HanSolo...

I'd also like to say to VZ_wired to please NOT take it personal that we have doubts. You must understand a lot of us have been around for a long time (too long actually) and have seen this VERY SAME scenario played out hundreds of times before. So do not take it as a personal attack. It's just that you really are not saying anything that anyone with a new account can say.

You have no track record here. If this pans out and you are right those of us who had doubts will be the first to back you up on the next go around :)
Heck we will start entire threads and quote you as the source :) All of todays credible sources have gone through the same gauntlet.

So understand credibility is earned on these forums and right now you have none. Just know that is PERFECTLY fine. I appreciate you popping in and participating regardless.

The funniest comment about NP appearance in the teaser I ever red:

"Adorable. This one is really curved.
But what the f*ck is that three dots on right side." [from xda]

Oh maan.. almost crashed on the floor...

My guess is (in the order of likehood)

1) Nexus Prime
2) Droid Prime
3) Samsung Prime
4) Samsung Galaxy Nexus
5) Samsung Galaxy Prime
6) can't think of any more...

Not sure what you mean. so you don't think verizon will get it?

No, I just think Verizon won't get it first or exclusive. Just with the same rules as another carriers.

Who knows, maybe SCH-i515 is just normal NP, but with phisical keyboard, which would be some kind of exclisive for Verizon, which comes to us few months later?

If it's not the Nexus Prime, it will almost definitely have the Samsung brand on it. They wouldn't let it get out without it, especially since Apple just dropped the ball. My hopes (and prayers) go for Nexus Prime, but if not, the Samsung Droid Prime is the most probable.

Using your example I would be fine with a i520 designation.

Maybe this phone is not even the i515. There are so many scenarios in play right now.

a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. :D:p

Am I the only one who wouldn't be surprised if it's called the Nexus S2? I prefer the prime name, and to be honest I don't care what they call it as long as the first part is Nexus.

Quoted. For. Truth.

Here's a clear picture of the device.
It looks better when you right click it and >> open in new tab.
