Ataboy Biker! You and me have been silent on this one. I have not been very active on the forums lately, but I wondered how you were doing. I was hoping to lure you out to give this a try. I really like it so far. This is definately no placebo. My phone runs faster than ever. New programs download from the Market and install faster than ever.

Thanks, Optimus. I will pull out the SD and get a microscope or go back to Radio Shack and ask. LOL. I am running hroark1.2 and I did not format the partition so I guess it is EXT4? Which sounds good to me.

When I set the partition, I selected 1GB and 0 swap. The GUI shows "set swappiness to this value (0-100) with 60 to the left but it appears to be grayed out If I press above that it says SWAP is deactivated. So, I guess that is good.

I also have ZipAlign on Boot activated. Is that good? Yes this is good

Which low memory setting is best? None are checked right now. I dont have any low memory setting selected, if you think you need one use the v6supercharger script or the one posted by murderousone.

RAM now says 133MB Free in the GUI.
SD Card under the normal settings menu says 150MB
TB says 157MB under Internal.

Edit:

This thing does run much faster overall. I moved all the user apps from system and downloaded or restored some more. internal memory holding up very good and going down VERY slowly.

I notice that it downloads and installs from Market much faster even taking my slow 3g at home into account. From the Office WIFI it runs MUCH faster on everything than it did before (yesterday).

Yes the phone does seem to respond better.

I have not been quite as active on here either, between life and trying other things I seem to have lost a little bit of interest in more modifications to the phone.
I really would like to go with the new phone but I know that wont happen for a while.
Right now I am doing all I can just to keep afloat as it is trying to play catch up from spending everything on security deposit and first months rent.

Yep , you lured me out alright . (lol) When I saw that you had tried , I had to give it a shot . :D I'm glad I did because it's working like a charm . It took me a couple of tries because I did not partition the SD card like I was supposed to but after I did that , it started purring !

Thanks for your input in this thread Optimus ! As always , you've been a lot of help . It's great to see you and Wyelkins still hanging around in here and helping others . My my my how far this Prevail Forum has come over these past several months . I love it !!!! :D

As for trying to stay afloat , I hear ya buddy ! These past few months have been a doozy for me too .

This DarkTremor is "The S***!" as they say. Very little slowdown, as you add more apps. and the actual internal goes down very little at a time.

This makes the Prevail run better than it ever has since I got it. I was starting to think about looking at other options, but may hang on a while longer now. One more month of Shrinkage and I am at the $45!!

I downloaded apps willy nilly today and TB says 44 users apps and 79 system data.and now says 107MB Internal Free. GUI says 102MB. SD-EXT says I have 619MB Free of 914MB.
/cache/ is showing all 93MB Free.
RAM is 106MB of 288MB

Now I have 53MB free showing on my system ROM.

Market showed an update for A2SDGUI today and I let it install. Then I incorporated the update into system with TB. No problems so far. Is it OK to use the paid version instead? I would definitely like to donate on this one.

Market also showed an update for SuperUser today that did not seem to cause any problems either.

TB 4.5.1 Pro also has a slightly updated look with some new enhancements.

Now, I just have to get over my fear of gutting out the CIQ. Is that working OK now?

I'm running bloodawn's Simple Blue and if I've read it correctly , It's already incorporated in to the theme . :D

you can actually run a2sdgui from the data it does not need to be moved to system, and I believe there is a donate button in the app if you want to use it.

Hello all. After much screwing around, I have sucessfully installed hroark13 kernal and cwm. At this point, I have shabbymodded 0.9, the latest hroarkkernal and cwm. I (hopefully) backed up my system using cwm. Now, I am really itching to put darktremors a2sd on my phone, but I have 2 noobish questions. First, if I screw up partioning my phone or I just don't care for AS2D after a couple of days, can I use the backup I created to go back and redo my phone like it never happened? Secondly, it has been mentioned to back up my SD card before continuing with this mod. Does that mean after I go through the process (hopefully sucessfully), I should copy and paste all of my info back to the Sd card? Thanks for your time.

Edit: As for the 1st question, This is assuming that I have copied my SD card to my computer before partioning or trying AS2D. Thanks

Edit#2: After screwing around with cwm and its partioning section a touch more, I noticed there was 6 preset sizes you could use to partion your card. How would I input a different value such as 890MB? Thanks again.

if you would like to go back, a restore from cwm would do that. you would still have your ext partition, you would need to remove that with an external program (minitool, easeus...) to get your sd storage back.
you're correct. once you back up your sd you can partition in cwm and then copy/paste your files back to the sd.
as for the size, i think you could partition to a custom size with an external program but not in cwm.

This may be the wrong thread to post this, but it only started happening after I installed DarkTremor. It has not really caused any problems that I can see.

Very rarely, (maybe 2 or 3 times) this weekend, When I turn off the phone to switch out batteries and then turn the phone back on, something odd happens.

I get several vibrates, like FC's. Not sure how many. I get several on the Boost Splash Screen. That screen stays up for much longer than usual. I think I may get more of them during the boot ani too, although I always get one short one near the end.

I cannot reproduce this at will, but it has happened more than once.

I did get a few updates to SuperUser from Market since I installed Dark Tremor. I have not had this problem since the second ene today. Maybe that was the problem.

I also got an update to the GUI, but have not seen any problems from that.

Been putting off trying this out til i could get a higher class SD card. Things happened(things being my curiosity and lack technical skills ...lol) and I had to re do my phone. I decided what the hell and tried it out with my class 4 SD card. There is a small lag with the icons in app drawer when phone 1st starts up but other then that phone works just fine.(icons still work seems the image used as icons just take a couple secs to load up). Also Its not hard to install, I dont know if installation has changed but this is now faster to install then link2sd. Awesome work inigomontoyasr.

While I don't want to make it seem like the other dev's here aren't absolutely fantastic, I do want to say that this mod (and specifically inigomontoyasr who has a .zip that actually flashes properly to the Prevail, the main .zip over at XDA didn't work for me) has made my phone actually usable. Coming from a Droid Inc, which has 8 gigs on board (with a whopping 1.5g of app storage), I quickly ran out of space without 1/2 my apps. Thank you thank you thank you for making this phone USABLE!

I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can keep an app specifically on my phone? I'm guessing moving to system/app or wherever would do the trick? I don't like Zeam launcher and use LauncherPro, so when my phone boots up initially, it has to wait for the sd card to be scanned and all that before my launcher shows up. I'd like to remove Zeam but doing that would require LauncherPro to be on the phone itself. Anyone know for sure?

I'm using Shabby's rom (think .8 slim)

Hey Inigo!
Do you have any suggestions on how I can free up any more internal space?
Does internal space consist of drivers and stuff not to mess with?
I uploaded a snap shot of the stats on T.Backup

Try koumakernel, move dalvik, clean up old text messages and keep email sync history low. that is, until I can get the betas to work and we can move the last of the data folders. i'm on vacation for another week so I don't think that will be too soon.

Is there a video for this? I dont have many apps installed, besides face book and double twist and i constantly get low storage issues. I have a 16 gb sd, and want to partition 2 gb to the internal memory. I've read all the post and have no idea what is going on.

do you care about starting from scratch? i can offer you a crash course

if you want to keep your current stuff, it will be more complicated

I am having a strange problem.... after a reboot my clock and calender are missing and not able to be restored using titanium backup... Happened twice.. Is my only option to odin again...

You can try pushing them back with adb or odin fresh. They are system apps, a2sd does not move them.

You have to have hroark's clockworkmod port flashed first so make sure you visit that thread if you haven't already
Once that is done, come back here, download the zip from the first post of this thread, copy it to your sd card, boot into recovery by holding vol up+power, install zip and reboot system.
The first post of each thread is really all you need unless you run into a problem. Reading other peoples problems too early just makes you nervous unnecessarily. :)
