***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Maybe I should have clarified...

I know this is all speculative. I was curious if there had been any source that had indicated it was Pentile, or if this was an assumption because the Galaxy S phones were Pentile.

Most sourced said that Super AMOLED HD screen on Prime will be pentile. I think Samsung's recently announced Galaxy Note, HD SGSII also have pentile HD screens. As far as I know non-pentile HD using RGB stripe won't come this year.

bingo. will probably have to wait for the s3 to get super amoled+ in hd

Honestly while im estatic of the speed bump, I'm perfectly fine with the speed and response of my nexus one. A few hiccups here and there but nothing too bad. So Omap or Exynos won't really matter to me. Both will be a huge jump in my eyes. Really looking forward to the increase in memory, screen, and camera.

It may not be a better choice when it does arrive. At that resolution I'd probably only want it if its brightness and battery usage is as good as the initial Pentile version, and I don't think that's likely.

My source just send me a long post. I'm driving so I'll posted as soon as I get to work . I just skimmed it. I didn't quite feel like dying while I was driving.

What you really meant to say was...

"My source just sent me a long post. I'm driving, so let me pull over so I can read it and post an update."

:)

Interesting news blip on why the decision to delay was a good one. According to the article its simply to get out from under the meda coverage of Jobs death. Google, Samsung right to delay Nexus Prime, analysts say - Computerworld

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I think we're always ahead of the blogosphere around here, in this case, by days -

Well, with much great respect, even if it's not due to Steve Jobs' passing, announcing the new handset this close to the iP4s announcement doesn't seem like good marketing sense.

The blogosphere is all agog over the new iPhone, and one must give the devil his due.

I still say that most analysts simply read what we Android users think and then dress it up and take it out. ;)

i'll take the battery hit for a better screen any day. you crazy!
I wouldn't trade for a 5% better looking screen (using some metric) with a 25% loss of battery life.

The article said LG's was better than AMOLED in a bunch of ways, but they didn't say Super AMOLED, so I don't know what that really means.

Almost at work. It's very interesting to me to see who cares about my life and who doesn't! :-)

i swear to god, if you crash and your phone is destroyed but you survived critically... i would fly over to the us and kill you...

...not of course but please hurry :D
