whaaa??

The only advantage is ICS? Hmm. Makes me feel 3 things:

1. Prime will not be Exynos 4212 (I'm fine with that).

2. The RAZR might be great.

3. Verizon, you damnable, filthy, virulent weasels, I knew you knew how crappy the Bionic was going to be and you still fed it to us!!!!:(:mad:

Wow.

the light, it is being seen!

*Summarized personal stuff:

1) Source is amazed at how fast this thread is moving!
2) Source is not a beta tester but has handled the NP.
3) Source has not handled the Vigor or Razr, but speaks often with colleagues who have.

There you have it.

Enjoy! :)

PS: Note to source. I want to thank you for trusting me/us with this. We won't let you down. We are truly grateful that you understand us and are with us in this. :D Simply put: YOU ROCK!!!

First off I want to thank the source. That being said, we really don't have any new info Prime related here besides maybe the FCC thing.

Thanks again to Steven. Without thinking, I would go for the NP over the RAZR. I had to pull my DX battery about once a week or more. A clean OS might put the NP over the top. Not much the Inside Source told us though. Guess they are keeping some tight clamps on stuff.

and BOOOM, my interest is almost destroyed... i was hoping for an awesome gaming performance... :(

Wow, really? Almost destroyed? :(

Well, maybe the OMAP 4460 will still be awesome, no?

Besides, you have a huge advantage over us, German! Don't you have the Note releasing over there soon? That's supposed to be great for gaming, I think.

I feel bad about this... my dad was ready to make the switch from his blackberry to an Android phone and I sold him on the Bionic with the lapdock. I would have let him wait for the Nexus like me, but he really liked the idea of the lapdock, and I'm not sure Nexus phones have had anything like that. Luckily though, he's not all that in tuned to what's going on the tech world, so if the RAZR comes out and is a real hit, he won't know the difference.

And yet again we pretty much know nothing more now then we did before he sent you that.

LOL. Poor guy.

I tried selling my Dad on waiting for the Bionic, too, a few weeks before I came to hate it. He didn't listen to me and got the Charge, of all things. Weeks before the release of all these phones!

But, he loves it. He doesn't care all that much about phones, really, and is ecstatic over 4G.

We don't talk about this thread. At all.

Yep tu, I meant it when I said motor safe.

Otherwise - I never miss a straight line, you know that. ;)

Very interesting about the screen remarks from your insider.

Very, very interesting.

Not sure what to make of them, but not liking what I'm thinking...

what are you thinking?!?

Wonder if the same team that worked on the Bionic, worked on the Xoom. Xoom2, Xoom3,....Xoom 14. That went over like a lead balloon.

Ahem! Cough! Yawn.......

Correct me if I'm wrong but none of us are expecting any official from Samsung, Motorola or Texas instruments to post official information on this board about the Prime eh? :D

Wow.

+1. All this while, the rumored specs have meant little to me. The (moot) question I ask myself is whether I want to deal with Moto's bootloader. Without P3, many Moto owners would have been left in the cold...

and BOOOM, my interest is almost destroyed... i was hoping for an awesome gaming performance... :(

Also, remember that the source did NOT handle the RAZR. He might think that the Prime is fast as hell, and it probably is, and the testers might think the RAZR is fast as hell, even though it isn't as fast as the Prime.

I'm not expecting Exynos on this baby, but who knows, we might be surprised! As Steven pointed out, this guy is not a beta tester. Maybe he's like the husband of a corporate girl and got to play with it for a few minutes. We have no idea what he did with it. He probably didn't even play any games on it.

Chin up, German. We're still not quite there! ;)

. . . . Not much the Inside Source told us though. Guess they are keeping some tight clamps on stuff.

He's probably shaking in his boots of letting anything slip. But yeah, if his intention was to calm us down, it didn't work.

Did you hear that, VZ? It didn't work!

Although I did find the "excellent battery life" of the RAZR interesting, did you guys?

Also, if Motorola is making a 4G phone that thin (compared to the Bionic), then what's to stop Samsung from manufacturing a thinner cpu and 4G chipset.

Hmm. . . maybe the Exynos will be there.

My head hurts.

don't think so... i think the OMAP 4460 isn't even as powerful as the exynos4210 used in the galaxy s2...especially in 3d gaming (GPU-Performance), thats very important for me (and of course the nice 720p screen, LTE and ICS) and i thought i wouldn't be disappointed cause of the CTIA category 'Gaming & Entertainment Enthusiasts', thats exactly what i am... :(

and yeah i know the Galaxy Note is coming to Germany soon (about 22. - 29. october), but i don't want to carry such a huge device with me... 5,3" is too large for me as i've got small hands... also the Note is very expensive.. :/

well for me, i think i should not stop believing... 'sources' can be true, but can also be wrong, sometimes they're even knowingly wrong so we expect something not so awesome and are positively suprised when it comes out...

hope... still... exists... :)

You got that right. I was looking at one of those and followed the Motorola support boards pretty close and what a horror story it was. All the while I was waiting on the Bi@ni& and got a sinking feeling about it.

oh sure, make up number to support your case ;)

Heh, well everything gives diminishing returns and it helps to nail it down. I mean, people say 320dpi is great. Okay, well is 400dpi better? 600dpi?

I'm very very happy w/my OG Droid's 264dpi, and if all they did was make it 4.65", brighter in sunlight, and have better battery life, then that'd be nirvana for me.

eh, i dunno. i can't tell the difference between my brothers phone and my wifes. his has super amoled+, she has super amoled. look the same to me. i'm stuck on lowly amoled. so anything is an upgrade for me

It'll definitely be that!

BTW, I'm happy to be wrong about Pentile HD being better in major ways than RGB HD. And even if I can't tell a visual difference between the two, maybe someone w/younger eyes will appreciate it.

what are you thinking?!?

I am thinking that the head of Pentile crowd came and shared a lot of details about their display tech when the Motorola Photon hit, and provided links to some of their company's VP blogs explaining how pentile really works.

Following that, I found statements by their VP that were contradictory on what their real deal was regarding resolution and tried to suggest that those might be best resolved for all concerned, but nothing seemed to come of that.

And further technical discussion revealed that while there are lots of claims regarding pentile resulting in power savings - those claims are only specific to particular use cases and don't really apply across the board - and that was confirmed by their CEO.

They seem like nice people, I don't want anyone out of a job, but I really wish someone would drive a stake through that technology, it's just not needed anymore.

I was hoping to see a good RGB S/AMOLED/+/? display here in higher resolution, once and for all.

And in any case - that's if I read that leak by Steven correctly.

All in my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Time marches on.. the SGS2 seems cutting edge, but it reality its been out for 7 months..

EDIT: Also note that there are several problems with the image. Typos (COPIYING), factual errors (SGS using Exynos).. so probably fake..

Not that I put much credence in that rumor, Hummingbird has now been renamed to Exynos 3110. So at least that part is not incorrect. Not that I believe any of this. I would actually hope that SG III would be better than this rumor.

Back on topic, heck, I would be happy with a 1.4 GHz Exynos 4210 (which we know exist, as in Galaxy Note and Tab 7.7) in the Nexus Prime. I'm so confused by all these conflicting rumors that I have no ideal what the real specs will be. It would surely be nice we had a confirmed date for the delayed announcement so we'll know the real specs.

I must be dense because I didn't get anything from the source post that leads me to believe a certain chip will be present/absent.

I just wish, from the bottom of my sweet, wonderful and sincere heart, that:

1. Steven's "source" would live a little dangerously and actually give us something concrete, never before leaked info, or at least confirm something that's been leaked to the other sites regarding CPU, battery, or whatever. (not screen).

OR

2. Samsung and Google announce their new "unpacked event" either tonight or tomorrow morning (I'll give them a pass on not doing it today since today is reserved for commemorating a man credited with "discovering" America, even though he didn't and even though it didn't need to be "discovered" since there were already a million indians living here who had "discovered" it a thousand years ago) saying that they will be holding the official announcement (which will also involve Verizon) this Friday morning at 10 am PST. That will put it smack dab during my lunch hour and I will be able to sit through it without interruption from my stupid and pesky coworkers.

Please. Either 1 or 2. I don't care which.

:(

My understanding is that though it's "only" qHD, the RAZR screen is the Super AMOLED Plus that is on the GSG2, with NO pentile, as opposed to the AMOLED HD, with pentile, supposedly on the Nexus. (Yes, I read somewhere that the screen for the RAZR is made by Samsung.)

I really can't wait to see these screens side by side to compare them by sight rather than by specs.

I must be dense because I didn't get anything from the source post that leads me to believe a certain chip will be present/absent.

Sorry, that might be my fault. I said that I didn't think it'd have Exynos 4212 because the RAZR, too, was noted to be super fast and smooth (although not by the source), and that the "overall advantage" was ICS. I'd think if it was an Exynos, that'd be the overall advantage (speed, graphics, gaming, etc.).

I made that assumption and some ran with it. But upon further reflection, that's just my opinion, and it's not really based on anything. Much like many of my opinions. :p

My source just send me a long post. I'm driving so I'll posted as soon as I get to work . I just skimmed it. I didn't quite feel like dying while I was driving.

Aw, comeon. What kind of dedication is that. It's thinking like this that has America falling behind. :p

I'm kidding of course....

I hate to do this, but it has to be done. I have a source in NSA, with it's 28 acres of underground computers. I will have him do a covert intercept of all cell phones of Google, Verizon, and Samsung executives. The automatic computer program will look for the following words: Release Date, Processor, Announcement, and Phandroid. Also, a team will be dispatched to pick up VZ_wired.

I must be dense because I didn't get anything from the source post that leads me to believe a certain chip will be present/absent.

My first post, but I been reading this thread for the last 4 days. I think was happening we are dissecting every little detail a source gives. We are confusing ourselves by this, if someone says they bump their toe. It means this processor or that will not be in the NP. Instead of taking what the source or sources is really saying.
I believe Tuesday or maybe Wednesday we will get more info concerning the NP, maybe the new date for the announcement!! We need to clam down and be a little more patient and we will get all the info we wanted!! But I do enjoy all the humor from everyone!! Its hilarious!!!

I work cases between Atlanta & Tennessee. I have been wondering what some of the folks here must be getting into to come up with some of this stuff.
The other day I was trying to get an angle on a subject and trudged into a little section of brush.
All of a sudden my nostrils were filled with an old familiar smell and tickling my nose was as you see in the pic. I thought, this must be what some of those guys are doing! Heh! Maybe I should try it so I can wait peacefully. It was all over the place and I got the heck out of there. It looks kind of ready too.
