Am I reading into the name "EarlyMon" too much? Or was it a clue on page 1 of this thread that the mods made mention of apologizing for not "liking" comments. The next couple comments were all "liked" by "EarlyMon". Early Monday Nexus announcement?

It's almost impossible to read too much into the mysteries of my name.

Other than that's what I'm called outside of the forums, I think it's entirely possibly that my name forms a puzzle that reveals the release date of the Prime! Mua ah ahahhahha!

Wait. That's black_man_x's job over on twitter. :)

Ok, let's see - hmmm... Well.

What would Steven say?

I love custom Mods.

(I _am_ the custom Mod he meant, everyone knows that.)

And we love you too, Steven!

Eenie meenie, chili beenie, the spirits are about to speak!

I think the fog of mystery of the imminent annoucement will soon lift.

That's just my opinion. ;)

I thought I remember Motorola say they were not going to lock bl anymore starting in late 2011. Did I misread that ?

No you didn't misread THAT part, but the SECOND part of that same sentence reads "where operators and carriers permit". And Verizon will likely not willingly let Motorola (their preferred OEM) unlock bootloaders on their network.

Hi all. I have been following this thread since I first heard about the Prime which I believe was thousands of posts ago after the disappointment when I learned Verizon was passing on the GS2. I started curious about the phone and I now am as rabid as most of you for the release, or at least some concrete date. Since anticipation is so high around here, I thought I could contribute a point of perspective, and as you read on, quite a laugh! I am WAY overdue for an upgrade (still have my last NE2). How overdue? I am still rockin' a... wait for it... Samsung Omnia i910! Check out the specs I am coming from, surely I will pass out when I first use the Prime!

ahhh I see now since I never was on vzw ever was unaware. My second question is did vzw really lock down the fascinate ? It was pretty easy to root was it not

Heellooooooooo everyone! I just couldn't take it. I've been following up with this thread for 5 days now and I just can't get enough, so I decided to join! Hope many others do so too

:)

Glad you signed up. Join right in. We're not saying much of anything important, anyway. :p

Anyone think that Google will have another contest via twitter for the release of the prime like they did for the S? That would be pretty sweet to win.

i don't think they said they were going to unlock their bootloaders. i think they said that they were going to "maybe" start making them unlockable (with a tool that they control, so they know who is and isn't unlocking/voiding their warranties).

but, as EarlyMon says, i could be wrong - i mostly am.

I vaguely recall reading up on it when twas thinking about upgrading to the atrix which I eventually passed on, because att didn't want to activate hspa+ out of the box took an few months before they did.

What the heck? The VZ CEO talks about how phones turn to crap before our upgrade date. . .I was expecting him to reveal some kind of yearly upgrade or something.

What a d bag

This is why I couldn't go to one of these things. I'd stand up and ask "why the hell did you get rid of one year contracts/upgrades then?"

I think I'd have to go with Husker on this. I took the announcement more as a "check this out, we maybe might do this one day...but now that we have your attention..."

However, I am just about as reliable as dude's post earlier about Friday.

OK. I'm going to be a dickhead and ask what, if anything, was announced at the CTIA regarding ICS or Galaxy Nexus?

I ask because I did not see any substantive updates in the OP and because I'm being lazy about checking the last 100 posts or so (but granted, there are a lot of posts to look at).

Anybody willing to help a brudda out?

lol, damn yall. Reading forums has got me interested way more than i should be :P, just like rooting my X. I want to have this phone now, and we barely know anything about it :P

I've just installed CM7.1 on SGS. Must say it's nice. My phone is even smoothier and faster (there is an option to overclock - my CPU is now 1.3 GHz :D).

I have love hate relationship with cm 7. After an week or so I get sometimes I get mad force closes on every app. I am hoping 7.1 fixed that issue.
