The only true fact that we have is;

Verizon said, "We are passing on the SGSII, because we are getting something better".

So what is better then the SGII? HD right?

Common sense tells me that any phone released after Nov. 1 will be able to run ICS. Its a giving. Bloat are no bloat.

Well its time to dream of a Jack and jill truck filled with a SGSII-HD cells.

They made a big deal about how BGR was FOS... Well I asked them if GSM Arena specs were FOS too and nobody said a thing. I think this dude picked up a older system file and it is not relevant anymore.... I don't see how this is a game changer or a gaming and entertainment powerhouse with those specs he lists. A GPU that old will not cut it. I go with GSM Arena specs until I see it for my own eyes differently...

That's why I think its the Exynos as well. Gaming and Entertainment is very specific and that is what they have been touting with the Exynos.

We'll see soon enough

Sign me up too!

Its too good to be true but I see no harm in being optimistic except for maybe a let down during press release I guess. I am even going so far as contemplating holding on to my Droid even longer if the prime doesn't impress

We're on the hype machine now.

If the rumored specs are pretty much agreed upon...and those specs are Fantastic...when they are confirmed, it's has no shock value.

If the rumored specs are decent and then the confirmed specs are much better, everyone in the technology blog world will go nuts.

This is about hype people and if it wasn't, the phone would have been announced already. Apple has the public snatching up iPhones like crazy after the biggest announcement let down I can recall. Why? Because the are the best brand marketers in the world and they can spin anything in their favor. Faster processor, better camera and a voice assistant that few will use outside of showing it off to their friends and they are CLEANING up!

Google's PR and marketing departments have been awful for awhile. If the Nexus Prime is their prized pig...it had better oink! They will have to win the old fashioned way...having a superior product. But if they can market it well too...watch out!

Took me since 10 AM to catch up to this runaway thread. You people can't quite talking about this phone...I wonder how many posts would have been posted if the specs were released in September? Maybe Google IS getting better in the buzz department??? Let's hope the phone is loaded! 16GB storage, no micro sd card expansion and an older OMAP chipset ain't gonna cut it.

The Motorola Droid was Google's coming out party. The NP should be the phone that asserts their dominance. If not...they have failed. It's that simple. You don't think Google knew there was no iPhone 5 launching? You don't get to be as big as they are without being able to find a source with good Apple intel. It's the right time for them to put their best foot forward. That's why they delayed the NP announcement. They aren't going to get many shots like this and they need to hit a homerun. Google has taken almost all of the market share away from everyone they can with the exception of Apple.

Apple has released a marginal upgrade with the same 3.5" screen, WP7 isn't getting much traction, BlackBerry is on its last leg, and webOS is dead. Damn...it doesn't get much easier than that! I'm a business man outside of this forum and I will be very disappointed if Google screws this up.

@black_man_x "people awaiting nexus.. lemme spoil it. Battery sucks.. screen is too colorful/big..doesn't print money and it wont even clear up back ache"

Okay so I wanna know who agrees and who disagrees and why with my take on this. I think maybe the entire thing is sarcastic and the last part is what hints of that. I think that maybe he's doing his usual riddling a little differently by saying he's gonna spoil it, being negative about it, then adding in the jokes at the end to hint to everyone that he was being sarcastic. So in that I get that it will be an amazing phone that everyone will love.

I also find this believable based on this:

I believe this to be very true, companies always need to know what their competitor is up to and to me it worked out both ways. Samsung finds out Apple has a sub par upgrade coming and starts preparing for the biggest push to overcome the Iphone yet and Apple finds out and throws a fit going patent happy and trying to ban Samsung from the US to keep the beast of a phone from releasing just in time to dominate Apple just after a disappointing release.

As I said before I'd like to hear who agrees/disagrees and why. =D

Well said, excellent point!!! EXCELLENT Google can't afford to screw this up!!!

I simply must say this...

Who CARES IF they DO release this thing in Hong Kong first in the next few days - it'd be absolutely ridiculous for it NOT to be released here that same day! After all, Hong Kong is a mere 14 hours ahead (of my Mountain time zone), and once it's released there, everything about this phone will be made known to EVERYONE here in a matter of minutes!!!

So go right ahead! Let Samsung and Google unveil it wherever they want to! It's a damn small world, people!

That tweet was 100% sarcastic IMO...I really can't read it any other way. I was pleased when I read it because if you are going to be sarcastic about it...it must be good.

Thanks :)

NEXUS PRIME VS IPHONE 4S!!! HBO we need a 24/7 leading up to the fight!!! "Let's get ready to rumble!!!"

Sweet! Except this isn't a lame ass Cnet Prize Fight with "ring-a-ding-a-ling-tong"...cause we know they would crown the iPhone the champ even if the damn thing failed to even power on! :D

The stakes are pretty high and I hope Google and Samsung see that. It's not just about having a better phone...it's about market share! Apple was going to have big pre-sale numbers, and Apple will have great early sales for the first month REGARDLESS of what the competition looks like. But can Google and Sammy slow em down after the iFans sleep outside and line up around the Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint stores? The Nexus Prime should be the phone that gives average consumers a better option.

One more thing: Galaxy Nexus is a stupid name and I hope that isn't what they call it. Nexus Prime sounds much better! Then I'd run a marketing slogan based on something like "Are you Primed?", "Get Primed!" "It's Primed and Ready!" Galaxy Nexus sounds like the next NASA shuttle. Just my 2 cents :)

I don't know that anyone "cares" where they announce it. If they announce one version for the US and one version for the rest of the world at the same time...then Hong Kong is as good as any place. I think it's an odd choice but they could announce it in Antarctica for all I care.
