Did Google trademark the word "Nexus" or something? Nexus isn't really a trademark or "created" word... not sure how they could copyright it... not like "Droid", which IS a trademarked word from Lucasfilm.
Uh, use is automatically trademarked, and it doesn't have to be an invented or created word to be trademarked. Look up trademark law.
Also, it doesn't even matter if it's trademarked. Samsung is a partner of Google. They aren't going to destroy that just so they can use the Nexus brand on their phone, and Google isn't going to allow a partner to use that brand without permission.
Source?
There's no source. It's pure speculation. It's just more FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) and I don't think all of the alarmist speculation here is very pleasant. I may check out of the thread for a while - the unfounded comments that serve only to panic some of the newer users are not needed, and frustrate me since they have no basis in reality yet some people will take them seriously.
