Interesting. . makes sense about battery life.
What does he mean about VZ not having input on advertising? I don't get that.

I have a life outside of this phone... I really do... but I can put it on hold for a little while![]()

I wonder if they're still working on the battery size, does that mean it's way off until final production starts? Or, is it possible to swap in a larger batter in the existing frame?
It appears I had inflated expectations about the battery life. Dang.
Crap. T-bolt all over again >.>
You think 5 to 6 hours of heavy use is bad?!?!?!?That was as stated with the screen turned up all the way and almost always on. It was also with constant browsing and downloads while on 4G.
That is great life!!!! That means with light to moderate use you will likely get at least 12 hours per charge if not a day or so. My T- Bolt was dead in 3 hours of moderate use or 7 to 8 whit little or no use

You may want to wait until 2012 to buy an LTE handset thenIt appears I had inflated expectations about the battery life. Dang.

I had an email chain with an ex co-worker of mine who works at Samsung over the weekend.
I was bitching about Steve Jobs (my co-worker is a bit of an iphone fanboy, but still loves android) and the delay of the announcement. He asked if I really wanted the phone that bad, with a smiley.
I started spewing out rumored specs and such but mentioned my concern about not having an SD Card. He replied with his normal "not allowed to talk about it", but mentioned that specs and user experience are two different things. Which I agree with completely, and I don't care about what processor is in there, as they will both be way more then I need, I just want battery life. I believe he was hinting that it would be OMAP, but that is just an assumption on my part.
The other thing he mentioned was he heard a rumor that Andy Rubin doesn't like removable SD cards and that I should try Google Music. So I would guess that an SD card slot would seem unlikely.
Like I said, not much and I won't press him since in the end it doesn't matter.
The only thing I am really concerned about is battery life. If I can get the same battery life as my Droid X without turning off 4G that is plenty for me.

The device I used definitely did have a removable battery. But battery size/life is something that's variable until the end. I've seen some sizes get switched out a couple of weeks before release.

Running it on full brightness, surfing on 4G, that will definitely kill a battery. It's about what I expected.
Regarding the battery concern, I think we should be comparing Prime to current LTE phones, not 3G phones getting all day battery life. If BMX is getting 5~6 hours in Prime and 10 hours in Nexus S, he must be using, testing it pretty heavily. I know that Nexus S can pull 20 hours or more if used moderately. So I think Prime is at least close to Bionic or better in battery life.
On behalf of mod staff, THANK YOU for asking! We like getting this out in the open, it helps everyone.![]()
I followed the Droid Incredible superthread for a long, long time before buying it on launch day. 2 months ago, I crunched the screen on it between my lower fibula (the part that sticks out the side of your foot)and the floor.
Careful not to wipe with the thing your posting with!
Ok, here's the info, guys. Once again, I'm sure about this person's being genuine, so we can trust him/her.
Should we assume that he/she is of the opinion that we are still looking at weeks before it's release? A couple weeks before it's released, then a few more before it hits shelves. wouldn't that put it out like 12/1?
SD Card Slot unlikely = UGH.
That's just so frustrating if the phone craps out or something all my pictures and things stored on there are gone.
Thanks Steven and to your source.
Me too. I just keep wondering when that "problem" with Android will actually be addressed? All the R&D these companies spend and the best we can do is add bigger batteries to compensate for faster data speeds, and bigger displays? I'm hoping for innovation here...
Oh well...we'll have to see what normal use is actually like. if cell standby is efficient, that would definitely help!
