Still hoping that's not the real deal.

Edit: I wonder how the outage will affect the graph. Nkk?

+1. i wouldn't be disappointed with that device. i don't know how much "wow" factor you can pack into a black slab phone, BUT i do want a little less bezel. guess that would be a trade off for being thin enough to see through. oh well.

Here you go!

Don't say I never did anything for you buddy.

Is it just me or does the fellow taking this picture look a lot like Mr. Andy Rubin himself? Are they really "angry" that one of their own leaked stuff, or is Google just playing games with us?

J/k, I know that's not Andy taking the picture and I don't want to sound insensitive to the perils of Stevens' source. Just thought the picture looked ironically like Andy himself...

Honeycomb isn't open source and never will be so the cm team will probably not ever mod it so im guessing ics will be 8

AHHHH. well then bring on CM8.

Edit: turns out ICS will be CM9. must be saving 8 for if they ever get their hands on honeycomb.

i'm blowing this thread up now that everyone thinks its down and i'm actually posting from my PC instead of my DX with 1X service. we need some kind of PSA so people know that its back up.

not to nitpick, but in their progression, wouldn't CM8 be honeycomb and CM9 would be ICS?

You're absolutely right. CM themselves have said that CM9 will be their next version. I don't remember the link off the top of my head, but this forum moves so fast I thought I'd better post even without the link before someone beat me to the punch....

Any new updates!!!

since when? today? No SD slot, larger battery than expected. oh yeah and this thread is on Verizon/ Samsung/ Google's hit list for exposing their greatest new product. sooo. same old, same old.

Edit: and the official announcement is on October 18th (19th if you happen to live in China). AND the ICS statue is on the lawn at Google's HQ.

I am sure glad that Verizon/Samsung/Google is watching. Now they can see what it is like being on the other end of the stick.

They have screwed this up royally, and if they screw it up when it is released I think they will be screwed.;)

PS..News break, Verizons loyal customers are PO'ed.:p

Also the official announcement will be made on Oct 18th 9pm cst. Avail for streaming at YouTube.com/android. Other than that same old.

Hopefully we'll get CyanogenMod 8 soon after.

World's ultimate pipe dream (only b/c it's the speculation thread and we can dream as big as we want)...

Nexus comes preloaded with CM8 variant which is essentially Vanilla with extended controls and options but no bloat. Kondik (Cyanogen) now works for Samsung. They get together with Google and work up a special deal to start PROMOTING dev greatness, flaunting it as a great thing and much of what sets us apart from Apple.

The phone of freedom.

Verizon buys in because they don't want to be left out of the greatest shift in philosophy to hit the Android scene since it's onset. That would be "something big". Iowabowtech wakes up from dream now but wasn't it the slightest bit fun to envision?

Also Verizon shut us down for an hour and bungled Steven off in a burlap sack but he escaped and got us back up. Other than that same old.

Dream? Thats more like an epiphany. Brought a tear to my eye.

Yeah, I run mine on a gentoo linux box, with a amd e-350. Plenty fast for any transcoding it needs to do, although I don't screw with video on there, just audio.

The api will work the first month or so without donating, so you can try it out with the android app, or other clients to see if you like it before sending any money in. I definitely listen to a lot more music now that I run things through subsonic.

Love gentoo, I used to be a gentooist for many years, but switched to centos just for resume/work reasons. I don't miss the long compile of kde any. ;->

Tx for the 411, I think this will turn into my xmas project. I really appreciate it!
