<------8000 fail.

Between Google Docs, Dropbox, and Google Music, I don't hardly use my SD card. As long as the G-Nex comes with 32GB onboard, I'm surprisingly not concerned at all.

My problem is that I often don't have any internet access yet still want to access my stuff. I spend weeks a year on private islands and a lot of time on planes wo wifi. I thought the programs you mentioned require internet to access information.

eh if no SD card translates into faster write times for taking pictures and the camera can snap pictures faster, then i'm fine with that. i don't need 32 GB of info on my phone at any one time. ever.

in other news, is anyone excited that this phone is probably going to have a HUGE dev community? first nexus on the biggest carrier. i see epic things in the future...

like i said earlier, i don't see samsung backpedaling on this device at all. i see no reason that ANY part of it would be inferior to the SGS2. the SGS2 has been out since March (?), why would they release something 8 months later (yet alone a nexus device that i'm sure they want to impress google with) with hardware that wasn't good enough then?

IMO friend, no microsd slot is a back peddle.

I have to tell you. Last month I dropped my DX at Yankee Stadium. The phone was fine but I lost the function of my 32 gb sd card, due to the fall. I lost pictures, music and backups for all different types of roms for my dx. I lost my miui setup, my cm7 setup, my stock GB rooted setup and all of the sub nandroids with themes on these roms. What a hassle. I now have a new card and am pretty much ok, but I'm thinking I'd rather have an internal storage of 32 gb that won't have contacts that can scratch, like mine did.

Truth be told, between my 32 gb card and my 8 gb's internal, i'm a spoiled brat. However, I'm not worried about not having an sd.

As far as speed goes, I'll be going from a Single core, TI OMAP3630-1000, (@ 1000 MHz) with 512 MB RAM to this or whatever else I decide to upgrade to. It's a win-win for me.

Am I the only one that doesnt have 16 (or 32GB) of movies or songs to fill up the phone? Hell, I've got about 110 apps and 100 songs on my ipod touch and only using 8.5 GB (I know..i know..Apple product :D)

I have about 9GB free on my ZHD(32GB). I can't take pictures with the device and I don't see the point in putting videos on such a tiny screen(3.3"). I would love to go crazy with the Nexus, but the space limitations might prevent me from doing so.

I'm aware not everyone uses that much space, but it would still be nice if they allowed us media lovers to expand storage when needed.

Yes! According to earlier posts in this thread, a "USB host mode" feature was previously available with a rooted/customized phone and the capability is mainstreamed into ICS.

Lets you hang a USB flash drive off your phone if you have the right adapter. That's going to be great!

Thanks. Awesome. My dinc is rooted now. I wasn't planning to root my nexus but I will in order to get this feature.

No slot is unfortunate. Kinda dimmed my enthusiasm but the better battery is keeping me in the game.

Edit: Wooo Hoooo! I got 8000!

Congrats! Do you think you could do a bit more of a celebrate-y type picture or somphin'? ;)

I lost my sd card data over a year ago when my card failed; I sympathize with you. I now have everything on my sd backed up separately.

I disagree. I don't think that the front profile shot is of a final product. Just my opinion though

I'm hoping its not. Ill still purchase it but I really dislike the look of it. Profile is sweet though.

Looks like a mid tier device from the front for some reason (my opinion of course) so here's to hoping that's what it actually is.

while i agree that it definitely is a backpedal for some. i'm ok with having all the storage on the phone. it can provide benefits and i've never needed to take my SD card out (like most people i would imagine). faster read/ write times coupled with a smaller device and more room for the battery.

Don't forget... we're all supposed to be very pleased. This is going to be a premier phone, folks. Additionally, you'll be able to do more stuff with it, like with the FFC (I saw my son using his ffc on his D3 yesterday. It was cool.). You can probably even do nice text messages and phone calls and stuff. ;)
