***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

.

With so much info confirming the Galaxy Nexus name, shouldn't the thread name be changed. Actually the whole forum name should be changed from Nexus Prime to Galaxy Nexus.

Prime was an awesome name, but I think would should all embrace the true name of our new master.

I wanted so badly for it to be called PRIME :( I can just hear it now... the same voice that says "DROID" at the beginning of the Verizon commercials, only instead it says "PRIMMEEEE"! I may have to create that sound myself. And I'm preemptively renaming my Galaxy Nexus to PRIME.

Exactly what I've been saying as well. Perception trumps truth sometimes and that means sales. Several pages ago, somebody mentioned common sense as a factor for specs. Adding a 5mp cam when there are a plethora of 8's out there just doesn't add up to me.

I just want that low light performance their recent hand sets have.

This is assuming that the Galaxy Nexus is the name for all of the phones. The VZW system says "Galaxy Nexus" but also says that it is not a global phone, which could suggest two versions of the same phone, a la "Droid" and "Milestone", or it could mean two separate phones with different specs

Could be, BUT, there's been zero evidence to indicate a different name for the world version if it even exists right?

Besides, aren't the majority of us vzw slaves?

I can't call myself a "slave" as much RENT as I pay them!

But with $9.95/month unlimited data, I don't see myself going ANYWHERE for the foreseeable future...

EDIT: Thanks ASC, but Th0r beat you to it... I'm waiting for an invite from him (?) and if that doesn't pan out for some reason, it's good to have a backup :)

you are correct in stating that it defeats the purpose of buying a nexus device only to put sense on it. If you want sense, buy a vigor.

You mean "Rythmyc". There's a name that ain't workin for me. All of a sudden Galaxy Nexus seems like a gift.

Galaxy Nexus pictures begin to find their way online | Android and Me

I'm going back to that video to see if there are any unidentified phones in the hands of the Google employees!

EDIT:

There is one close up of a woman taking a picture of the statue.. would it not be just like Google to sneak the phone into that video? How can get a still from a youtube video?

The quality of these pictures is fine, but I feel like it is in no way going to compete with the newly revamped camera (with an improved sensor/lens) on the iPhone 4S.

Maybe it has to do with Picasa compressing them?

There's a darn good chance it exists, as a phone with the correct model number and GSM radio passed through the FCC.

Samsung Nexus Prime (GT-I9250) Passes Through FCC With AT&T/World AND T-Mobile Bands?

As for the name being different? No idea, but possible.

I just like to feed the fires of speculation with my rambling thoughts.

LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time follower, first time poster. Hey guys, I feel like I know you, which is a bit weird. Not as weird as that HanSolo guy.....;)

Anyhow, pumped for release. I have an iPhone 4, have been inside the wall for about 3 years, this will be my first android. I am from the UK so hoping I can get it on my network, which is o2. Sadly, I could do with a minimum of 32gb storage or SD support as cloud stuff in the UK is lame, and 3G is very rare in my area. Like at least 1 hours drive.

So, hey, and I shall contribute more I promise.

This happens to me on a constant basis. Did you try turning the phone off and taking the card out then re-inserting it and turning it back on? I have to do this whenever it takes a hit hard enough to slide the card just enough to knock it out of place

Tried all that, it didn't work. I even tried reading it from my laptop using an adapter. No bueno. Thanks, though.

Wow..this phone does texting AND phone calls? Did I awake from a coma inthe year 2050? :D

It's even got a COLOR SCREEN!!!! :) :)

Another milestone, Steven, over 5000 thanks!
Today's quite the special day, it seems :D

Thanks! :)

That's my favorite case: Slot but no card, and I'll buy the speed/capacity card I want if I need it.

Can't the Android camera store photos in internal memory regardless of whether there's an SDcard?

Good point, this phone will get a looooot of developer attention.

I'm sorry you guys lost data, but at least with data on an SDcard you can take it out and provide it to a recovery app or service. If the phone itself gets bricked, you may have no way to recover data from internal memory.

You backit up, the same way you would using an SD card, right? Plug it into the computer and back 'er up!

Not just having fun, we're the definition of fun. Unless we go newsless for more than a day in which case we turn into ravenous wolves. :D

True. And I'm wroried that we may not get any more info until the event day.
