phone and tablet

This would make the absence of the sd card more acceptable as presumably the tablet will have more memory and or an sd slot.

I hope that it could be truth any day... a tablet with out proc ram only a bigger display to make presentations or just to play.

We should take a patent about that :p

Hmmm, the Gnex aka Galaxus aka Galaxy Nexus.
We have some masters of wordplay in this thread :D

Also, this essentially confirms what we already knew but

iPhone 4 Rival Alert : Samsung Google Nexus S Cleared Out? | ITProPortal.com

Looks like retailers are clearing their inventory of the Nexus S as they prepare for the Gnexusprimephone.

P.S. The article gives the Nexus S a fairly bad rap, so if you're attached to that phone, shield your eyes :(

WOW!!! That article was very unflattering! Bias much? Just wow

One of our guys at work bought the ATT SGS2 and it's amazing; so thin, and quick. Hopefully, we get a similar (although we're on OMAP) user experience. Really excited to see what GNex brings. :D

I was all set to get the SGS2, then the Celox (SGS2+). Neither came to Verizon, so if I don't get a super nice surprise I'm breaking up with this lying boyfriend and moving to another carrier. Oh wait I can't do that because I'm grandfathered into unlimited data

I'm yet another first time poster joining your rankings in these last few highly anticipated days. Reading your posts have been the only thing getting me through!! My OG was TRASHED, so I had no choice but to buy something to get me through until, I thought I would get the Bionic. I grabbed a Charge - which I don't hate, but I really miss my OG -mostly for its less veriozny Android. That said - I've been patiently waiting for something to peek my interest so I can ditch this thing but keep my 4g. This sucker is looking like it will be it! Whatever name it's called be :)

Oh I got my Charge with the Best Buy Bay-Back plan - since I knew I'd swap before the end of the year. It sounds like a good deal for my situation, but has anyone used it before?

Another pro lurker here... Most any of the specs being thrown around will suit me fine although I'd prefer an SD card. Maybe I'll have to mosey over that Google Music invite thread.

What I'm really looking forward to is the software though. ICS needs to be a nice smooth hardware accelerated UI experience and I need to never see "HTC Sense has crashed again" in my life! With no SDK preview though, can we really expect a good experience from many apps before they're updated? All we have is the 'Preparing for handsets' blog post. (Can't post links yet).

I'm sure Google has some great things up their sleeve for ICS in terms of merging Honeycomb and Gingerbread, just hoping they finally nail the UI and I'm not forced to root and install ROM's unless I feel like it. Experience with my HTC Inspire has been ok but I'm really looking forward to a nice speedy vanilla Android phone.

Welcome to the Forums.:D I too were concerned about the speculation of no SD card but then I heard it were only speculation taken from pics and the such. I'm not worried now though on account of you can't see me OG DROIDs SD card from a pic either.

You can always take your chances with Sprint. Still unlimited data, and generally cheaper rates.

However, I don't know how a company that hasn't made a profit in years can keep it up. If Tmobile goes, I don't expect Sprint to last.

Wow, a warm welcome to the forums to our new members! Glad to have you! :)

For those who haven't heard, Google has finally gotten a twitter account for Team Android and they're using it so far to make ICS updates.

Nothing yet that you probably haven't already seen (youtube link to the ICS statue unveiling and a hello) but it's likely a good one to follow - I am!

Did I miss something, article only had a few paragraphs and I don't think anything was biased.

There are cheaper better phones than the Nexus S right now, just like there will be cheaper better phones than the Galaxy Nexus in a few months.

there will always be better phones within 2 months of a release of a major phone

the droid razr, is coming out soon with ics, however we do not know if it will have an unlocked bootloader, or a unlockable/lockable bootloader

I know I had my eye on the Razr/Spyder/HD whatever it's called before the Gnex came onto my radar. I've had the best luck with Motorola branded phones in the past (I drop my phones, a lot but I'm not a huge fan of bulky cases) in terms of build quality, but I really want me some vanilla ICS! I feel like since the specs seem to be fairly on par, I can't make my 100% decision until I see what they look like in the store. Maybe it's because I'm a girl, but if the specs are close, it'll come down to which one is prettier.

No SD card actually doesn't surprise me. Samsung is going for thin and light, getting rid of SD card slots and making batteries non-replaceable helps. Not being able to replace the battery doesn't matter to me if I can make through the day, unfortunately I rarely do. Hopefully these large replaceable battery rumors are true.

Starting to get cold feet: By next summer, there will be substantial gains in processor and screen technology with the added benefit of better battery life. The SGS3, the IP5, and other phones will be out and ready to go. Do I want to get stuck with a 2 year commitment now or wait 8 months for something very special? Food for thought.

This is what I love about the family share plan... I get the latest and greatest, and when my mother's phone update comes around, she gets what I had and I get her upgrade

:)

According to Steven's source, it'll be removable.

I wonder if a thumb drive with adaptor would work. Has any one tried this with an android device?

I'm probably pages behind at this point, but I accidentally hit quote instead of multi-quote, but in case anyone else hasn't answered- yes, this works with HC so I would think it's work with ICS. You just need an adapter from the port (microUSB for Xoom, proprietary for Sammy for the Tab )to usb.

I forgot how VZW lets you use another line's upgrade! Now the question is... Do I steal my mom's upgrade or get her a new phone like she wants.... I hate the thought of her getting a smart phone, she won't use the data so it seems like a waste of money after I lost my unlimited. She's 65 and arthritic so I can't see her using one much.

Evil plan formulating!

@4lph4num3r1c
No, the lack of SD was pretty much confirmed. If that's gonna be a deal breaker for you, I would look for a different phone :([/QUOTE]

Not sure it's a deal breaker. (never had a phone with that much internal memory before and always needed an SD card). All I know for sure is I'm NOT gonna be storing me personal pics/vids etc. on some hackable cloud. I live on a mountain with no data/reception unless I go to town so that cloud "solution" doesn't apply to me anyways.
Just curious, where was this "pretty much confirmed"?

Wow very evil indeed
