at least the saleman tried haha, but in all honesty, theres not much advertising needed for release day iphones, all the media coverage leading up to the release does the job quite well

I know....I was just struck with the gigantic pictures in the windows of att and the fruit store.....and then our 8×11glossy. Was a funny moment.

1. If as we heared there isnt a sd slot on the phone, does google-samsung have a solution for the backup-store lets say it problem, and if yes will it be free or will be there some kind of charge. (a nicely made rip of the customers).
2. Ics will be open source or will google keep the code for it self and his marieg with motorola, so he provide a phone but her self with a 3rd party involving on it as she dont till now with the other 3 phones. (hard to ask that and even harder to get an answer for this)

3. Did you use Samoled and not plus because of the power problemm with the battery life on a smartphone with technology of displays?

Some questions I could think I would ask

Question:

What UK networks are looking to carry this phone, and is it going to be a Carphone Warehouse exclusive like the Nexus S? I hope not....

Also, how much is it going to cost in the UK.

Thanks!:)

We DO know what factors make up a nexus device. In order for a device to be the next nexus, it has to adhere to certain standards. It's pretty much carrier independent. Google, in partnership with whichever manufacturer won the rights to make it, helps design the phone. Nexus phones are basically developer phones. They have unlocked bootloaders, are bloated free, have vanilla Android, and the updates come straight from Google. This will not change just because Verizon is on board. Like Google will go against everything its tried to create with its nexus brand just to appease ONE carrier.

And what if Verizon desides that they won't allow an unlocked bootloader on their network? They're probably obligated to buy the phones at this point but why couldn't the compromise to that be that they simply don't call it a Nexus phone. It could just as easily be called the Droid Prime and nothing of the Nexus requirements would apply anymore.

hopefully im wrong on this point, but i would think that when samsung won the bid to make the nexus and verizon made an agreement at some point to have an exclusivity period with it, that they knew what that meant.

I would certainly think so too but we can never be quite sure what Verizon agreed to in the first place.

The suspense is killing me.

Anyone else see that Black_Man_X on twitter is talking about OTHER phones having stock ICS by year's end? I haven't ever been a huge Sammie fan... would like to see stock on another HTC. He also mentions that the VZW phone is great, but the "real beast will be on AT&T Q1 2012".

Luckily, this farm boy will soon be harvesting corn, so I won't be checking this forum every 2 minutes. Hopefully it will make the time pass quickly until Tuesday night.

They have things called contracts that spell all of this out.

Is this phone actually going to be able to surf the web at 4.65" or is this actually just a 4.3" phone pretending to be 4.65"?

There are those speculating (The Title of the Thread) but without holding the phone in ones hand to take measurements its all just a bunch of hot air.

If it isn't answered in the presentation, I guess my most obvious question is when (if) Verizon will be selling the phone. I only ask this stupid question since our source told us there was some serious internal heartburn at VW. That leads to the second question... Will google wallet and or Isis be pre-installed?

I think everyone else asked my other questions (screen, processor, battery size, etc)

I also want to know about ICS schedule for other phones/carriers, especially updates for phones in the (Verizon) pipeline like the RAZR, Vigor, and Revo2 which presumably will be coming with GB loaded.

New to the thread. I have been checking it religiously. Good stuff!!
All the questions have pretty much been hammered out, but I would like to know:
With samsung/Google using a 5mp camera, what new tech did they use(lenses and sensors), and why 5mp and not 8.

I know mp's aren't everything especially in a phone. Just curious on why.

good question that i would like to know as well, but i would assume if it is indeed a 5mp rear, there are some seriously beefed up sensors and lenses in it. i would also like to know the time it takes to actually take a photo, i have a 3 month old and time is important haha

I have never owned a Sammy phone so I don't know how their cameras normally are, but on the Motorola's I have owned its pretty hard to take a quick pic. The Bionic is horrible if u need a quick snap! Can only dangle a treat in front of dog for so long before she goes crazy.:)

A couple of questions.

1. What is call quality, reception, gps like. What SoC is in it.
2. Battery life- will ICS help this.
3. When in landscape mode, do the bottom icons rotate with it and take up how much space?
4. Cost of the phone. - Will VZN subsidize it?

this reminds me of another question...

do the buttons disappear whenever you rotate the NP/GN into landscape-mode?
-> are the buttons only visible in portrait mode?

Does anyone else feel strangely a little disappointed in all the attention this phone is getting? I owned the nexus one and currently have a nexus s, and something I loved about both phones was the fact they were great phones that noone else had. As nexus devices get more coverage and go more mainstream I wonder if nexus will become the new iPhone at which point I'll have the same phone as everyone else, which for me is undesirable. Feel free to flame, I know this is a stupid thought process, just thought maybe I'm not alone in my stupidity.

Hahaha. It's not cool because everyone likes it now! I don't want to be a conformist!

This right here is VERY important and well said. I will also add this is the very reason I do NOT think we will see a "real" Nexus device on our network. AT&T, T-Mo etc etc will get the actual Nexus device and Verizon will get a watered down version of it. No NFC, maybe vanilla Android, Verizon bloat. I believe it's called the Galaxy Nexus for a reason. It's not the real Nexus.

Another reason it won't be a Nexus is because of what g_patrick posted above. Updates coming straight from Google........when hell freezes over.

Verizon kneels at the feet of Apple and bows to their every whim but in regards to their Android partners, they clearly write the rules.

Not really, if it's remotely a Nexus device, we won't need to wait for Vzw to release the update. We'll be able to grab it from the big G and install manually (hopefully).

would most people on vzw be ok with an galaxy s2 device or are they all in on an nexus device ?

I have to tell you guys. I'm glad this is finally coming to revelation. (sigh of relief).

I guess all I need to know is:

1) metal or plastic?
2) Curved or straight?
3) Screen: SuperAmoled+ or what? Pentile or not?
4) Battery size?
5) Screen size?
6) Actual Phone size?
7) ICS features? Why is it better than Gingerbread?
8) Official release date.

More following.

Edit: will we get to 10k before Tuesday?
