***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Everyone leaning toward 11/10 at this point, or is there still hope for 11/3? It's really gonna piss me off if the release misses my trip by only a week. I would have loved to take this along, especially since several of the people I'm going to see own iPhones.

My guess is 11/3 preorder and 11/10 launch. Razr will be before this, but most that dwell here will care less.

I kind of realized what may have been the most important point as I was typing. And that is that Verizon really isn't attached to any phone. They don't really care if we buy the Razr or the Bionic or the Rezound or the Prime or even the cheapest piece of crap smartphone they have. All they care is that we have data plans, text plans, and voice plans. The reality is the phones are loss leaders for them anyway. Why would they care if we get a Razr that we pay $299 or a Prime that we pay $299. Either way they are subsidizing about the same amount to the manufactures.

Sure their bloatware and whatever money it still brings in comes in to play a little since they can't put in on the Prime. Even with this the real profit is in the data plans. I'm sure Verizon realizes this by now. The writing is on the wall that the bloat like VZNavigator isn't going to continue to be profitable. Verizon is seeking a phone, any phone, that will lure people away from another carrier to bring in more plan profits. If they can find a phone that will pull people away from the iPhone that will be their cash cow.

You hit the nail on the head...if fact one of VZ's biggest expense is its employees and a large number of them spend 8 hours a day taking calls not about problems with their network...rather the vast majority are calls related to cheap ass manufactured phone issues.

Every call costs VZ on average $30.

They actually want out of the phone sales business all together, they want the consumer to deal directly with the manufacture from purchase to trouble shooting their own phones and Verizon would handle network and billing questions. My son tells me about calls that last hours with customers who's problems have nothing to do with the service Verizon provides and that is network.

Man you guys are on a weird ride tonight. Up, down, every which way!

FWIW, I'm expecting an awesome announcement tomorrow night, which will result in happy squeals of delight from 90% of us and shrieks of searing pain from the other 10%. I think I'll be in the 90th percentile group.

This phone is going to rock, guys!

Simply rock.

I'm predicting at least two more mood swings before the announcement

-I spend 6 hours on this forum of my 8 hour work day.

-First Samsung says they will announce it on the 13 by giving us the teaser side shot.

-Than they decide to be "considerate" and troll us by delaying the announcement by a week.

-To make it worst, they outsource OUR announcement to Hong Kong.

Occupy Galaxy-Prime,

We are the 99%

:D

Been a long time lurker of this thread, about a few thousand posts back. Very informative thread, thanks to all that contribute. Just very excited for the event tomorrow. Might not be able to sleep!

i am happy for you Verizon folk. Hope you all are happy with galaxy nexus you are getting I am hoping they will mention some potential ics phones for the rest of us carriers :)

Alright screw it I'm joining the thread, can't contain the excitement anymore after reading that Samsung tip about Canadians specifically tuning in. I hope the GSM version comes with Mobilicity (T-mobile) bands.

All the neurotic behaviour in here actually makes me feel better about my own :p

No problem. Besides, Chattanooga is in the Eastern timezone, so I get the phone an hour earlier!!!!:)

Good luck being first. As long as I get the phone, I couldn't care less if someone else gets it before me. Don't get me wrong, I am very excited to get this phone, and with pure ICS as well. I expect to be blown away by what I have seen so far, but I'm not tripping anyone on the way to the counter unless there is only two left. :D

I will most likely hope for an online preorder, or I'll get it after work. I don't expect a mad rush on the Verizon store.

Hey everyone ive been lurking since Dec '09 and figured id put up my first post here on this thread because ive been following it pretty closely since the whole sammy/google announcement blunder and id been holding off for the GSII for T-Mo since i got my Mytouch 4G but ive been pretty curious about this phone. I hope it turns out to be as good as its been made out to be :)

welcome to the roller coaster please keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times :)

I'm sort of struggling with them announcing it at all to be perfectly honest. The Nexus will be announced but I'm starting to think Verizon may not get this thing.

I_think_thats why they scheduled the RAZR event tomorrow. To take away the blow back they are about to face if they don't carry the handset.

I'm fairly sure that VZW and Moto had this announcement scheduled before Google/Samsung delayed their first event.

Also, it's not like they purposefully moved it to Hong Kong to announce it. Just that this Hong Kong event was already schedule so they just decided to announce it then.

You are looking too much into it.
