I say let everybody get disappointed and expect nothing, then if it matches your earlier disappointment, it's not surprising and you're not mopey. If it's better than expected, you're happy. If they somehow threw in the Exynos 4212, then your head explodes with excitement.

hell yeah i usually underestimate something that i'm looking forward to so i could be happy about the out come like the time i got my NS4G i didn't know it had a FFcamera then a month later i found out i was all happy

but EXYNOS will definitly be head exploding joy:D

First post and saying HI from the Netherlands...

So would this be the first Nexus phone with the manufacturer Samsung on it? Previous ones were with Google on it only?

(sorry for my bad English)

edit, can't use picture in first post :D

this will be the second samsung phone

Nexus = HTC
Nexus S = Samsung
Nexus S 4G = Samsung
Nexus Prime = Samsung

ummm... no. 4212 has been said multiple times in articles that it will ship in devices as early as the very end of 2011 (not likely) and definitely in Q1 2012. The SGSIII is already spec'd to have an overclocked 4212 (1.8ghz vs 1.5ghz) or the exynos 5250. If they follow the same release time as the SGSII, it will be released in Q2 2012. Why would they bypass the 1.5ghz 4212 altogether? makes no sense. Wiki for the exynos procs states the SGSII HD LTE will have the exynos 4212 which certainly is not shipping any later than Q1 2012.

that information is incorrect. the 4212 is sampling sometime this quarter. it won't be ready for at least another (roughly) 6 months. as for the 5250, it might not even get into phones until 2013. we'll have to see how the a15 yields are doing next year.

at best, the s3 will have the 4212. if we go by the s2 release, we're looking at what..may? sounds reasonable

I live on Bonny Oaks. We lost power for that one for 7 days and we lost power for the tornado for 4 days.

Move out of the sticks, fellas.

Geez I wish I were in Maine or something close to the Eastern seaboard... their Verizon stores open an hour before ours do and they get this baby first! :(

Oh well, at least I'll have MY new toy 2 hours before those left coast folks get theirs LOL

Welcome to the forums, SharpDressed! Glad to have you for the party!

Right i'm in Cali :(

Ok I am officially signing off until later tonite. Rumor is rumor and speculation is speculation. I've done enough of that in this thread to last me a few years. So I'm done for now.

My keyboard is going black until tonite....peace out my friends. I'll see you on the backside of this blackhole.

I hope it lives up to everyone's expectations and if not, no long faces. There will be other great devices to choose from. Its only a phone.....there's more important things in life

I feel like that's the really sad part about this. We've finally heard enough bad 'specs' that any hardware even approaching the 6 month old SGSII would make us happy.

I know, I know, wait for the release.....

...but really shouldn't this have SGSII stats but with the new screen? Is that really too much to ask Samoogle? Come on....

That's about a thousand posts back, lol

We're not at all convinced it's genuine.

It was however directly appropriate to CK stating GSMArena still held on saying it will launch with the Exynos. I am more than well aware that was not breaking news, but thanks for pointing it out, just in case I missed it.

You mean like all the wiki's that list different SoCs in the Galaxy Nexus?

Rumor is easy to drive. Facts aren't. Samsung hasn't even begun sampleing the 4212. Expected to first sample in Q1 2011. Then there is time for manufacturers to design, test, and fix software code.

The OMAP 4460 first sampled in Q1 2011. We are just now (maybe) seeing the first phone with them in there, months later. The SGSII HD we really don't know what's in there, seriously. I believe the SGSIII will be the first phone with Samsung's new processor, with expected delivery in Q2 or Q3 2012, just as I stated.

Take my educated guess for what it's worth.

thats what i've been saying this phone is supposed to be the Daddy of all androids like when the nexus came out it kicked ass left and right now this is coming out and it doesn't even match the specs of it's counter part

Sorry, I meant that the brand Samsung is visible on a nexus Phone

yes it's in the back of the Nexus S

Honestly, I expect the galaxy nexus will have 1.2Ghz OMAP 4460,plastic back but high quality and 5 megapixel according to MUTLIPLE article. Just like iphone rumors, everyone thought there will be iphone 5 because of 1 article leaked case design, because of the better specs, but turn out to be iphone 4s. Therefore, I think it is good enough because the galaxy nexus will have HD display.

Don't be too greedy, at last end up with nothing.

Relax, it was a joke about the tornado comment. I'm originally from Detroit. Have at it.

It wasn't very funny to those of us who live here. A lot of people died in those tornadoes. Sorry to be a downer, but the joke was in poor taste. I am sure it was out of ignorance of the severity rather than malicious in intent, but still.

Apple brought a knife to a gunfight with the 4S. Yep, things are gonna get messy at FruitCo...

Messy? Like selling more phones in 1 day than ever before? By selling out at each of the carriers? By bringing back Apple's shareprice after SJ's death?

While we techies slather over specs, Apple sells a rather mediocre device (other than GPU, which is superior), and millions buy them for huge profits. They can then release the iPhone 5 next year with the same specs and only a slightly larger screen, and those sheep will buy everyone of them too.

As much as I hate to admit it, Apple makes gobs of money, and the 4S will be another success on the companies history. Apple is worried, however, and want to fight legitimate competition with lawsuits.

Does anyone know somewhere to watch the even live?

Also is there any chance they might show another phone ya think? Maybe they are being sneaky

I agree, Vette. If you can't innovate, litigate. But we can all agree that 4S - while a typical big-seller - doesn't even come CLOSE to either RAZR or Nexus in terms of specs or general excellence. Apple stock came in lower than projected, despite all those sales. Something is amiss.

Maybe they can ask Siri what to do :p

You would think so. The thing that stands out to me is that we still haven't seen a single device on the market running a Samsung Exynos SoC with LTE support. I don't think that is a coincidence. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 which has LTE is running a Tegra2. Samsung's soon to be released Galaxy S II LTE is rumored to use a Qualcomm SoC.

All of this evidence suggests to me that it isn't currently possible for Samsung to release an LTE-capable device based on the Exynos SoC. No matter how awesome ICS is, that is disappointing to me.
