Hong Kong is actually in China, not Japan:cool:

Maybe due to the fact that they were in Asia and were talking to that market? It still does not make any sense that they would only mention that carrier. Although they did not mention any other carrier either probably means I am reading too much into this.

On another note I have to stop searching for Nexus related information because it is beginning to depress me. You would think this was being released with the same hardware as the OG Droid by the comments on some of these articles.

I never understood why we quit spelling his name with a Q. When we bombed his ass in the late '80s he was Quadafi. Now he's Gaddafi (though not anymore). What's up with that?

LOL funny you say that...I posted Quadafi was killed (without link)

went back and added link and changed spelling hahaha. Ok now I know I'm not crazy. Ok yeah that's debatable

it was made in Honk Kong and that relates to Japan how?

Yes yes I am well aware of where Hong Kong is, but the people in Asia don't give a rat's butt about Verizon so why say anything about an American carrier when they aren't there (for whatever reason).

Maybe this is where he was going to say Verizon, I mean i remember him saying that part and he seems to not be as polished with his words, kinda like it needed to be changed last minute. It could be me but he just seemed "off" where the rest of the time he was quite polished.:confused:

if i recall correctly, i remember seeing on one of the news sites that there are over 60 acceptable ways his name was spelled(seriously), and that the spell check feature of ICS was going to reveal the standard of spelling it from this point forward

Next week? NEXT WEEK????

I'm almost dehydrated from slobbering over here! I have to sit wayyy back from my laptop so I don't drool all over the keyboard!

Wouldn't it be a beautiful thing if Verizon just silently released the Nexus next week, while at the same time starting pre-orders and intense marketing campaign for RAZR? Heck I'll even settle for November 3rd... just BRING IT!

Also, were a car company to take an existing model, add a carbon fiber trunk lid, and give it the same name as some older, more popular model, I would find that just as ******ed as moto's tactics.

That's about what they did w/the abomination that was the Mustang II. IIRC, that was the car Farrah Fawcett looked pretty good driving, but OMG it was a dreadful vehicle. :(

(FWIW, I think the event was cancelled because of glitches with ICS, as Steven

I thought the same thing. I remember thinking "here it comes" and there seemed like a pause and then...nothing.

Although that could also be because I was expecting it.

Yeah that is part of the reason I didn't say anything, I figured it was in my head but I don't really know, I would have to go back and re-watch that part...and I am just too lazy to do that!

and the people of China give a rats butt about a Japanese carrier why?

I digress...the SGSII was/is the "perfect" handset. But yes your point is taken....

the one issue I have with sgs2 ,its the same issue I have with my captivate. GPS is still sub par. I was trying out GPS via google maps at att store and wasn't getting lock at all. When I tried it on the atrix 2 next to it was getting locks in less than ten seconds. For me that is an deal breaker , maybe I will have to wait till next year for an new phone

Yes sir....I picked that up as well. Almost like he was caught off-guard. That was the only thing he could think of.

Name recognition.
I know the carriers in Canada due to their proximity. It would stand to reason that the same applies there. Or maybe they will have the exclusive rights at first and it warranted saying it.

Does it really matter at this point? It's done, they made their announcement and now we have to wait for VZW to decide when they will let us in on it.

Me either, I just killed the sound and enjoyed the form factor comparisons - although brief, very telling on what to expect for your hands.

Let me translate a bit for you. He is describing the build quality and comparing the size to some other units. Then he goes on to say...I got one and you don't!!!! STUPID AMERICANS :o

you know what is odd about this now that i can see it full view.... dont all the other verizon LTE phones have the actual "4gLTE" logo next to the signal bar, and this one just has a kind of generic 4g?
no bloat no VZW influence just straight Google that is why :o

Since there is still concern about Verizon getting this device (not saying it is unjustified) I thought I would just point out a few things that come to mind when I read the rumors and supposed problems regarding the devices arrival on big red.

After the unpacking event was canceled rumors of all sorts hit the web about why. Some of them were reasonable and others were WAY out there.

None of these rumors started until after the HK event where nobody jumped up and down yelling, "Verizon Verizon Verizon, this phone is coming to VERRRRRRRRIZZZZZZZZZON!"

Some of the people making comments, statements really, on delays or cancellation have had spotty records with regards to information accuracy in the past. I'm not saying they are right or wrong now, just addressing the fact not everyone is right 100% of the time.

The Galaxy Nexus shouldn't have anymore problems with network connection than the Droid Charge. If the Charge has good radios for CDMA and LTE then the Nexus having poor radios would be very odd. Verizon would raise a fuss if the radios were poor or causing problems though.

Declaring the Nexus now would most definitely hurt sales of the Razr. Declaring the Rezound (I can't get over how much I hate that name) after the Razr and/or Nexus won't cause as many problems because of people's like or dislike of Sense.

No US carriers have been declared and until one has there isn't really reason to believe in problems.

Looking back I can see that almost since day one this phone has been talked about as a Verizon phone.

I have not heard anyone anywhere say that this phone WILL NOT come to Verizon.

Rumors are very easy to start.

I love you! I mean your personality specifically, please don't ban or bite me lol
