Root CM7 Random Issue Thread

found the sms setting set to 160 but it failed again after resend. do i have to restart go sms?

i put the setting in stock messenger and gosms still not resending message.

do i need to manually do the apn fix from the stick on the latest version of cm7?
 
Another quick question. After flashing to cm7 and wiping everything do i need to reflash Clock Work Mod? it's not showing up in rom manager anymore. What is bizarre I cannot find the folder containing my recent picture I took. Nor any settings to point the camera program to dcim folder?

it used to say cwm 3.0.0.5 in rom manager where it says to flash cwm recovery.

No. The only way I've found that removes CWM is restoring to stock, while flashing anything with CWM doesn't remove it.

Don't see the picture I took yesterday anywhere on the card. also copied all pics from my old install to dcim folder and they are not visable in the gallery. However if i go through file manager they are all there except the one i took in cm7. myster where was the picture i took yesterday saved?

is there anyway to make the camera app look in dcim folder?
 
Just wondering what files to copy from my backup of the stock install titanium backup folder. Want to really just restore angry birds. most of the other apps I'll reinstall from market.

Also I'm thinking the answer is yes. Once I customize cm7.2 to my liking should I back it up in cwm?

biggest benefit of rom manager is easilly flashing cwm. other than that

ok but if i reflashed cwm to make sure it woudn't harm anything?

I actually did that cause I didn't know. And now it's showing up in rom manager again after i did it with rom manager.
 
Yes always make a back up like once a week in case you have an "Oh sh*t" moment.

Just restore your data img from the stock rom. (Your stock back up wont work anymore. md5 mix match)

Just hit reflash in RM. CWR is still there you just have to let it know its there.
 
To make it clear. I just reflashed cwm like you said. rom manager now knows it's there. actually last time i had to do it twice so maybe it didn't flash it just let rm know it was there. really using rm as a bootloader. cwm much easier. I think one good backup once i have everything set up like i want it. Just getting used to and customizing cm7 right now.
 
Are you using rm just to boot into recovery? You can do the same thing by holding the power key for a second and select "reboot" and then "recovery"

Just download titanium backup from the market again and it will find your TB folder, then just use it as normal.
 
Few random issues
1. When I lock my phone while listening to music it seems to have random static spikes. It's really annoying and only when I have my phone locked.
2. When looking at at "service provider" it is just blank. It doesn't say metro. Not a huge problem but it just bothers me XD

the music thing I have no clue on, but the service provider thing I do, its edited not to show anything as most dont like it ;)

You can fix that by looking in data for eri.xml and editing that file.

I just searched my entire phone and SD card, and can not find that eri.xml file anywhere...

That must be what it is... but I swear i flashed the metroff file... I am running CM7 and sms and mms work great...
 
You'll see EriText="" you want to add it between the "" I made it say MetroPOS ahaha It shows up under network in the phone status, on the lock screen and on the pull down of the status bar.
 
My husband and I both have an Ascend, they are rooted and running 2.2.2. My husbands conected to the computer fine and we were able to use CM7 for his but I'm having a hard time doing mine because of usb problems. I've tried to revert back to stock by using MetroStockRecovery-Scrips zip I found on another thread and the "fastboot-windows" worked but the "metropcsstock-windowsMS-DOS batch file" is hanging out on the black screen "waiting for the device." I already reinstalled the 2.2.2 update hoping that would fix the problem but didn't. I really just wanna put CM7 on my phone but it doesn't seem possible with out beign able to use the usb. I've tried going into the market to use Rom Mod but when I try to get the zip file to boot my phone gets stuck on the white huawei screen, amd if I try to hit vol up, talk, and press the on/off button nothing happens. I've tried searching through the forums to see if I could come up with a solution(loving the ultimate guide) but I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance, you guys are great and we come here anytime we wanna know something about our phones. I'm feeling rather broken at the moment<3 Running in Dino days with XP still...
 
Not sure why this does not work correctly under cm7. If I unmute I can hear my voicemail. But if I speak I have to put it on speaker. Can't do this while driving. Bluetooth sucked on stock. Never tried it on cm7.how is it?
