***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Yep, some are, most definitely. Once word started getting out, people stopped testing the theory on this. So, are they all? I don't know - but forewarned is best.

It is for the add-on warranty - don't think so if you go without that and rely just on manufacturer's warranty.

Or if a few days later, you find you have a lemon with a bad GPS or whatever, and try to go for the store trade - at the point the moisture sensor is in the red, you may be looking at an insurance deductible.

I'm not an expert on warranties or anything - I just see the horror stories across oh, so many brands.

~~~~~~~~
Ditto on screen protector horror stories. I see people whose habits and habitats don't lead to much in the way of scratches advising against screen protectors for others. Why? People are different in their uses and environments. For those of you whose mileage varies, I recommend the Zagg Invisishield (avoid the no-smudge one, go for the plain). Pretty easy to get on, and if you apply no pressure when using, your finger will slip across the surface and the phone will respond. Don't use your phone for the first 12 to 24 hours. When applied, the thing will be gummy with lots of water bubbles underneath. When dry, it hardens and the water bubbles disappear - if you don't mess with it while drying. Keep the applicator stuff out of the rest of the phone - moisture, etc, see above.
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Not sure that is even possible!!!!!
When I'm not in hype-mode over a phone, I actually lead a very active life, mostly outdoors, during the whole year. My pockets have been know to be littered with sand, volcanic rocks, hooks, etc. So yeah, I'll probably be getting a screen protector. But I just hope that it doesn't decrease the touch sensitivity (no innuendo please).
Also, Giordano's pizza > than 100% of pizzas, I don't care if it's NY or Italy. Go on their website, have a half-baked frozen one delivered to you, and you'll see what I'm talking about. You will arrange trips to Chicago just for the pizza. You will come here with no clothes and empty suitcases so that you can stuff them full of pizzas. You will cry when you run out of them, sitting in NY munching on your Sbarros pizza.
next time you come to ny, check out lombardis down in little italy , i am sure it will change your view of thin crust pizzas :-)
I know it doesn't have the Verizon 4GLTE logo, but I'm wondering if it is the LTE version that they have photographed? It looks "fatter" than what we saw on launch day.
Launch day specs were given with the caveat that they were for the HSPA version. I expect the LTE version to be marginally thicker.
No lie, I was in withdrawal, and checking the screen in disbelief knowing it wouldn't work out. (But it did.)
In other news, I found that voicemail actually worked. ;) :D
hahaha! I have a feeling if I were to use that protector I would apply it as soon as I got the phone, prior to activating it.
The 17th is way too far away for me especially with all this hype. Although it would make sense since the RAZR, Rezound and SGN on same day is a bit silly.
I'm hoping you guys on VZW on 3rd or 10th...GSM version for the rest of us on the 17th...that would be awesome!!!!! Looking doubtful though. I would think that we'll be getting close to finding something out soon though, if Samsung is releasing stuff to UK, you think we'd follow.
as an tmobile customer , i thought they were mentioning something big coming to tmobile the 19th possibly could be the gsm version of galaxy nexus ?
T-Mobile Notifies Employees Of Another “All Hands Day” Coming November 19th
Was in NYC back in July and went to Lombardi's. AMAZING pizza! Never been one for thin crust, but theirs blew me away.
For World Series relevancy here...Cardinals suck, go Rangers!
For phone relevancy: got a nice big scratch on my OG Droid within a month of having it because I had been convinced it didn't need a screen protector because of the invincible GORILLA GLASS and it's superpowers. I got me a protector real quick after that first gash. I also use my GPS a TON when I'm out and about. After buying the Droid and using its GPS, I decided a standalone GPS would be completely unnecessary. My wife's Eris has even been used as our navigation, so I would guess the Nexus should suffice as a GPS as well.
La Russa still seems like "the new kid" to me. I miss Whitey Ball! I'm wearing my Willie McGee jersey this week :)
Larussa is an very good manager but he tends to overthink things, you still dont like him even after he got you one world series , and possibly second one if they can win two in an row at home here?
YOWWW! :eek:
These are some expensive accessories, and not until November 21st???
Official Galaxy Nexus Multimedia Dock and Vehicle Mount Appear Online For Pre-Order
Let's hope they come out (a) before then and (b) a little cheaper!
For my car dock needs I go with - Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts*-*ProClip Car Mounts for Mobile Phones, GPS, and Handheld Devices. But they will not be ready right away so I'll wing it until then. I always make sure I'll have the phone and car for two years too. The car is a yes, the phone is still out :). I usually get 3 pieces, dash bracket, swivel, cradle.
If I do not like the dash mounting bracket but want the powered cradle I go here Pro.Fit International - Mounting Solutions for Cell Phones and GPS for the dash bracket. These are metal and very nice.
I like the durability and factory install look. I don't like blocking AC vents or glass mounts.
Tony is very good. But I think one's perception of what "real" baseball is, is formed in childhood...the 70's and 80's were awesome days for the Cards!
I have this bookmarked for when I get my phone (hopefully car within a year too but not holding my breath on that)
True dat! Bob Gibson, Al Hrbosky, Ted Simmons, Ozzie, McGee, great memories as a kid. Loved going to Busch to see them. My parents still go to a dozen games or so every year.
sorry H.Lo, but the NY Times declares Pizzeria Bianco in Phx to be the best pizza in the country... :p
It's Pizza Oscar for Bianco, Says Rachael Ray - NYTimes.com
Rachel Ray says it. Her credibility is extremely debatable.
Sorry. Try again!
Cards: How in the world can they allow that cheater McGuire on the team? If the Cubs had Sosa on there, I'd be throwing a fit. Freaking cheaters ruined my memory of the summer of 98.
Phone: I really, really hope it gets Dragontrail glass, but I doubt it's shipping before next year.
If this glass were on the nexus prime I think people would quite quickly forget about gorilla glass. Not much has been said on this product since January 2011 but they were looking to be shipping a lot of this stuff by now.
It's nice that it didn't break but the glass could be scratched all to heck... Unfortunately, the flexibility shown in the video generally leads to less scratch resistance.
Scratches are very much a factor of hardness, the harder object wins. That hardness usually comes at the price of flexibility and shatter resistance.
I was thinking the same thing...hoping we're right, but since Tmo stores have never actually carried a nexus device, I'm not getting my hopes up.
Well its never really been sold in any cell phone stores before other then best buy , correct me if am wrong. Maybe they are bucking the trend by selling in vzw and tmobile stores now
Regarding screen protectors- I prefer the wet application ones. Yeah, it sucks to not be able to use it for a day or so (really I've found overnight is fine), but it's really the only way I've *ever* been happy with a screen protector application.
