What's the difference between new every 2 and the loyalty discount?

None, They are two different items, if the phone is $299.99 on contract.

NE2 = a phone @ $299.99 2 yr contract pricing. Thanks for shopping at Verizon.

Loyalty discount = $50.00 = $249.99. Thank you for returning to Verizon, don't look for this in 2014. maybe.

Thanks for the answer, i dont play that much on my phone, if i did that i would have stayed with the iPhone.

Now that i think about it the, the display on nexus will be awesome :)
And thats really what i care most about.

The way i see it now, it will be an awesome phone for me, as my first android device.
To also continue that thought, the OMAP 4460 also has a build in hardware acceleration of HD video, something the Exynos 4210 doesn't have. Video playback should be exceptional on this phone.

The Source told me that testers were getting good battery life out of the Razr, but the excitement was over the G-Nex.

We really have to wait until it comes out because we don't know if the Vz G-Nex just got a battery upgrade or not and we don't know what size battery the testers were using. I can tell you this, however, I've always been pleased with my DX's battery life. I bought a second battery and rarely use it. (DX is Motorola, fyi.)

this is one of the big things that keeps drawing me back to the GNex. while flashing roms isn't really NEEDED (cuz of all the improvements in speed and OS), and while i don't have a compelling urge to continue flashing roms, after spending 2 yrs with my OG, i don't know if i can go a whole 2 years without hacking the crap out of my phone!

Husker it's a no brainer. Go with the Nexus then :)

That statement says it all. It's like saying you don't know if you could go 2 years without being with another woman. Don't get married! :D

edit: as an fyi, me and husker are best of friends. So he won't be offended. He may be upset I outed him for having a girlfriend but........oh wait! No he doesn't have girlfriends. I mean a girlfriend!! I swear.....

PM1066, I never said this is the ONLY forum involved, or the only website pressuring Verizon to release the Nexus. There are, of course, untold millions who will buy into the Droid franchise to make Uncle George lots of money, but I'd be willing to bet that there are also untold millions waiting for Nexus.

And Verizon didn't really expect that (my mind wants to believe).

I see your point of view though, and appreciate your opinion :)
Chiefaroni you are not being realistic. Don't take things personal (The Nexus is AWESOME) but most people don't even know the thing exist yet.

Most of the civilized world doesn't obsess over phone tech like us.

Well, I think the people looking at IT media news at least couple of times per day would most likely have seen Galaxy Nexus news and are aware of it. And that's on top of folks like us on this kind of forums.

I agree that it might still fall short of Razr in sales. But GNex seems to be definitely getting better marketing push than previous versions (One and S) from Google/Samsung.

I agree with CK about the RAZR likely outselling the Nexus. If history is any indication, Verizon puts the full force of their marketing behind their "Droid" line. Non-Droid branded phones don't get the seem TV marketing, but will sometimes get heightened marketing if they bring something new to the table. Two recent examples are the Thunderbolt (first 4GLTE phone on Verizon) and the Rhyme (female oriented phone with accessories included). What does the Nexus bring to the table that is different from Verizon's existing lineup that is worthy of marketing? I don't see Verizon advertising the fact that they don't use this phone to screw over the customer to the same degree as most phones (bloat, locked hardware/software, etc.).

The Nexus will get marketing, just not as much as a flagship Droid device. And, since most people aren't tech geeks, the marketed product will generally sell higher. I would be utterly shocked if the RAZR didn't outsell the Nexus by at least 2:1 (counting Verizon model only). And you know what? I wouldn't care either, because the phone that ultimately ends up in my hands will be the phone that best suits my specific needs, be it the RAZR, Nexus, Rezound, or something else entirely.

shhhhh....icksnay on the irlfriendsgay!!! ;)

actually, your analogy is pretty on point. i may think that i couldn't go 2 years without being with another woman; but, the qualities of the one woman may outweigh the desire for other women. so, while i have trouble envisioning not being able to hack my phone for the next 2 years, the other qualities of the RAZR may win out in the end. [besides, unlike marriage, i can always upgrade in 2 years without any guilt (or spousal maintenance)... LOL :D]

p.s. i've been married for 14 years, as of earlier this month...

Well said...I don't care if the phone I chose sells 10 units or 10 million. I choose what I like. Plus lets be honest, just because a phone out sells another doesn't make it any better. Just take a look at the iPhone............

Agree. i could care less if they stick the nexus in a back corner of a verizon store somewhere. As long as I can get the phone that I want it doesnt matter how much or how little advertising they do because after all it is the phone I want and that works for my needs.

This post made me realize that girlfriend in pig latin ends in gay.

14 years?! Niiiiiice

Ok your analogy trumps mine :D great point(s)

well baby...................................blues

I don't know if i should take that as a compliment or what :D

I think once you understand me, you would agree with me more. I'm very crazy...complex I mean.

trying to understand CK - talk about an invitation down the rabbit hole!! (or is it through the looking glass?! i can never remember...) lol

then again, if get down the road and realize i've made a mistake, and decide i want to get a different device, then i will be getting a divorce. literally - my wife would rip off my arm and beat me with it... :p

i can't even tell you how much she despised the time i spent hacking and flashing my OG. if i got another such hackable device....?? whooo, boy... so, while there is a certain allure to an open, dev'r device, and may be what i want, what i want may not be the best thing for me. ;):p:o

Can someone post the link to this Verizon sign-up page or is the google sign-up page cause I signed up for the google one. I didn't know if they are one in the same. Sorry hard to keep up with this thread. Also I see the Razr full retail at 650.00 uto.
