You know now that I can see the texture of the Gnex better with that pic I wonder how we can keep it clean?

As long as you don't let it go too long. Phones are terribly dirty things by nature of being handled by human hands, cheek and ear skin pathogens and breathed upon. Heh!

Naddy!

Hey guys I have heard that Verizon REMOVED the word "EXCLUSIVELY" from their banner. .This is GREAT NEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the ones who care anyway.

What I heard is that it will probably sell all over for at least t-mobile and att on maybe the same week it releases for Verizon. . I don't know though if it will be at full price or on contract though. .might be offered through 3rd party stores

I think exclusively means that radio Shack and bb will Sell verizon version as well

Oh, you'll try to put it down and tell yourself, fine, that's it, it's just a phone, give the thing a chance to charge.... And I'm here to tell you, that's not going to happen. Once you're above about 25%, you'll be back at it. Promise.

I'll have the USB cord stuck in mine and keep going.

So, I have to admit, whenever someone sees my phone for the first time, I'm asked before powering the screen if an iPhone or a Droid. Once the screen is powered, the question becomes, So - that's a Droid, right?

And I always cheerfully reply, Exactly right, but this one is called the Evo (or whatever I've had on me). :)

Early we think alike (on a few things, thankfully for you lol) i typed this very thing to chiefaroni but deleted it because it made me go off onto a tangent. Droids are any phone from any manufactuer running on any network. True story.

I don't think Motorola has to worry about the Razr's being to powerful to fall into the wrong hands, because they've locked it down and secured it well with an ENCRYPTED BOOTLOADER!!!!

BWAH HAHAHAHAHAHA PWNED!

You didnt see the movie Thor? Hahahahhahaha

Pwnt and packaged!!! Lol

Meaning vzw stores won't be only one selling the vzw gn. Places like best buy an radio shack Will also, as shown when the gn was found in their cell Brite system?

"Exclusively" I'm pretty sure means carrier exclusivity, not store exclusivity.

and Verizon just removed the banner stating that the phone is Exclusive on Verizon. .meaning that the phone will hit OTHER carriers.

I hope this is true. .I hope somebody finds some other news on this to fully confirm

It reminds me of soda pop in some parts of the South. In some places, everything is a Coke. I ordered a Coke with my dinner at some restaurant once, and was promptly met with me, Sure, what kind of coke do you want? Root beer, Dr. Pepper, Co-Cola, ....

On phones, if anyone goes on to question if it's a Droid after all, I just say, sorry, thought you were asking what kind of Android - yep, it's Android!

I think it's just nicer to be a good ambassador for Android in general and let the name brand confusion slide - it's not like they mean anything by it, other than, can you help me understand this Android thing? (Yes!) Plus, I make more friends that way, so - you know. ;) :)

I have 32 gig sd card in my captivate also don't know what else I can use it for if I go nexus route

From my own experience I recommend,

Keep your Captivate as a backup in the event the new handset is lost, destroyed, or stolen.
In such an event you are waiting for a replacement you can call Verizon and they will move the activation to the old handset and you keep going until the new handset is found, replaced, or repaired. It takes about 5 minutes.

This is a life saver if you are on a trip or caught on a holiday weekend.

Just maintain the battery every couple months storing it at 60 or 70%.

I'll be backing up my GN storage to my PC and the OG.

Yes, it is incumbent upon us to educate the non Android world on the virtues of Android. If we have to let little technicalities slide, remember it is for the greater good. ;)

I think verizon exclusivity means only inside US. They are launching it oversea on 11/17. Even in the US, I think other carriers will get it a few months after verizon.

Well I am with att so nexus route would be nexus s so I can get ics I was wondering if I should sell my captivate via swappa or something or just keep it for backup

I agree with various sentiment that the Razr will likely sell better than the Nexus although I don't know that it'll be by leaps and bounds, even with all the ad money behind it.

That said, I can't fine one single reason for buying a Razr. Not bashing, I just can't come up with anything when I look at the specs vs Nexus. And I don't think it's a niche device either. First phone to have ICS with better hardware specs than it's supposed rival is a niche? That's just not correct.

Anywho, just waiting for a date to drop.

That said, I can't fine one single reason for buying a Razr. Not bashing, I just can't come up with anything when I look at the specs vs Nexus.

It's psychological. When people look at the RAZR, they first look at the Bionic, then back to the RAZR and see an upgrade in every way for "only" $300 on contract. With the Nexus, a person first looks at the various rumored specs and picks the best of them, then looks back at the Nexus and sees a phone that didn't live up to their expectations, but is expensive at $300.

So, it's not the RAZR versus the Nexus. It's the RAZR's lead over the Bionic versus the Nexus' shortfalls versus expectations. Few people actually look at both phones and do a direct comparison. There are actually people on this board who have tried to say that the CPU/GPU on the RAZR are superior to that of the Nexus, and I simply perform a facepalm...

Now, I'm not making fun of anyone who would buy the RAZR. It does have many advantages over the Nexus, such as perceived build quality, the thinness of it, form factor may be better suited to people who don't want a miniature tablet, etc. But, the people choosing the RAZR over the Nexus due to direct reasons versus psychological or brand reasons doesn't seem to be a vast majority in my views.

I still believe verizon will have exclusivity till around April next year. Unless something drastic happens

BMX suggested in the chat of the AC Podcast that the GSM version will come to other GSM carriers in the US in around 3 months.

The LTE version is VZW-only because it's made with VZW's LTE frequencies.
